Favorite Disney Prince?

Prince Phillip...although, maybe he's a little too slick. He does sweet talk Aurora into dancing with him b/c he's not a stranger...they've met before...once upon a dream.;) He also gets his dad to twist his words and send him off to marry the peasant girl of his dreams. But...he does sing and dance, he has the guts to take on Maleficent in dragon form (even though he has help from the fairies), and clearly - he has a fun friendship with his horse...

OH I forgot to clarify why I chose em, Aladdin and beast both have defined personalities that really set them apart from a lot of the Disney prince's. For that alone they are interesting and they both kinda grow alot through their films. As for Eric well, I'm sucker for dark hair and light eyes.

John Smith & Li Shang shouldn't be in the lineup. They're both swell guys and all, but they aren't princes & they don't marry princesses. (I'm talking about their stories, not marketing) They belong in another lot with Hercules & Tarzan. All good guys mind you, just not "princes".
And who cooked up this Florain nonsense? His name is The Prince

That said, I'm a softie for Eric.

Bit of a pointer for some..

His real name is Prince Henry (or Henri in French).

As for the Prince from Snow White...who knows? It's either Florian, Ferdinand (something mentioned by Shirley Temple in 1938), or Frederick.
But his horse's name is Astor. :)

Ferdinand is a bull in a Silly Symphony cartoon. That's what Temple was talking about. None of the other names are true either. That's all wiki/tumblr/fangirl BS that gets spread around because people love details and fanfic, but hate facts.

He's "The Prince" as noted in Disney published encyclopedia books. "Snow Prince" is his parks monkier.

The one and only "Prince Charming" is from Cinderella.

Adam was fanfic that became cannon later (like Master Gracey).

Actually, Mulan shouldn't be a princess either. She wasn't born into royalty, nor did she marry a prince. But some consider Li Shang..something.. because his father was a General.
As for John Smith, I agree. He never married Pocahontas. But she is a princess, I guess, because of her father being chief and all. It's confusing.
There's a lot of debating about The Prince's name. I've heard that it was originally Florian, but Disney just stuck to The Prince.

I go by what's in the movie. That's why there's no debate about Phillip or Eric because they are referred to as such in the film. Failing that, The Encyclopedia of Walt Disney's Animated Characters (a massive tome for which 3 editions were made. It's not so much a dictionary, as much a comprehensive analysis of all animated films and works, including hybrids like Mary Poppins and Roger Rabbit) is my #1 official source.

BatB is tricky because Belle flat out calls to him "Beast!" at one point because the writer's never got around the answering that question. That book I mentioned just calls him "Prince / Beast". A CD-ROM is where he was first called "Adam" and its been used ever since, so I guess it is cannon now.

I don't take issue with people giving fan names for characters and acknowledging them as such. Passing them off as fact is what irks me, especially when rescources exist to prove otherwise.

People got Ferdinand confused because his name was mentioned in succession of Snow White and the Dwarfs. From there, people must have got that word confused with other names that start with F.

You're right..
Yet Prince Charming's real name is Henry, they had it on Disney France (French Disney Channel, I presume) when they were advertising the BluRay edition of Cinderella.
I don't try to pass them off as fact, just my guessing.

I saw that too and went :bored:, I mean after 60+ years, now they tell us, and only the French? lol.

I'm certainly not accusing you :), it's just that people elsewhere on the internet will take anything and run with it if you give them the chance.

Since the Beast isn't a prince (and since I don't like the lame prince he turns into), I can't vote for him.

I guess Eric. He's good and kind, strong and brave. Eric will do.

I never had a crush on any prince, though.
