I was stuck between the American Adventure and the Country Bear Jamboree. What's funny is I don't like Jamboree for the nostalgia. In fact, I think I only went to the show once as a kid? But I went this spring and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Probably my best memory from magic kingdom. But AA has always been such a great show because of the scale and tone.

Has animatronic maintenance really been an issue in the last 2 years?

In Florida, yes. Compare Country Bear Jambore to Tokyo's version. Look at the dinos in EEA. Carousel of Progress' AAs are depressing. Every time Tiki Room gets a refurb the animatronics start falling apart again a month later. YETI. Splash Mountain's works fine after refurbs mostly, though. Stitch's Great Escape is one of the few that actually still has all of its show quality elements, sadly. XD

It always amazes me how beautifully the animatronics move in little mermaid and Snow White, but then I remember.. They're new.

I'd say the only except would be the American Adventure. The animatronics in Mickey Mouse Revue are smoother than most AA shows we currently have or had.

I'll concede animatronics that have been taken offstage altogether, like the elasmasaurus at Energy and the Yeti, but not the others.
Figure-heavy attractions like the Great Movie ride, American Adventure, Splash Mountain, and Pirates look better than they have in years.
The Jamboree looks great too; I have no idea what you're on about there.

No... No they don't. Great Movie Ride's animatronicd are not nearly as great as the were when the ride first opened. Look at videos on YouTube! Jamboree was in horrible shape until it was fixed into okay-shape a few years ago. Jamboree's animatronics also ran much smoother years ago. Again, videos prove it. You can also compare the jamboree animatronics to the ones in Tokyo disneyland.

Pirates animatronics were in very rough shape until YEAAAARS later they got their refurb.

I'm just saying that Mickey Mouse Revue's animatronics are much more life-like than most of the animatronics we have in most rides and shows at WDW. Especially the animal character AAs. Again...... Look at videos.

I'm looking at a video right now and I still think you're way off base.
The majority of these figures are extraordinarily simple, most having four or fewer points of articulation and zero compliance.
A lot of the figures are barely animated at all, and rely on their rotating stool to provide any motion.
These things have more in common with a Small World doll than a Country Bear.

That's what makes this show work.. The animatronics don't NEED that large selection of movements. It works and looks better than, say, a joint or two not working on a bear.

Same here! I did CBJ when I was little, but not recent enough that I remembered anything about it. Then I did it during my last trip, and loved it so much I had to do it again. So for me it's a tie between CBJ and CoP.

It has this really great feel, right? The humor works so well (to me anyway lol), and it has an older feel that I like.

The American Adventure, and it really isn't even close. It's the most elaborate, well done completely audio animatronic ride ever conceived at any Disney Park.

Absolutely an epic show.
