Definitely Wilderness Lodge.
The theming there is amazing, rooms are comfortable, restaurants are great, it's just a great resort.
I would have voted for the Boardwalk Inn, because I love the Boardwalk, but I've only stayed in the villas :)

Having stayed at four of the choices, I voted for my favorite of those, which is the Yacht Club. Elegantly themed, perfect location, outstanding restaurants, and incredible amenities (including the greatest resort pool, Stormalong Bay) add up to one phenomenal Disney experience.

I love the Yacht Club too, for all the reasons you listed, especially the restaurants (Yacht Club Galley... :slurp: )
Plus, I love that lighthouse :)

Having stayed at every one of the deluxe hotels, and several times at a few of them, I still will pick my old favorite the Contemporary. I know, its old and dated, no atmosphere, falling apart, blah blah blah, but I just LOVE staying in the towers and taking a 10 second ride down the elevator and being on the monorial in just a couple of minutes (not to mention getting off first on the way back from MK). So, its my favorite for the sheer convenience of it (and having Chef Mickey's there is the added kicker!).

runner ups - Poly, Beach Club Villas and Wilderness Lodge

:xmas:

Definitely WL... :) But...I am sort of interested in staying at Poly now that I see how many votes it is getting. I never knew it was so much more a favorite than the others and I am really shocked at how many do not mark the good ole classic Contemporary. Is the interior decor what is creating the low votes for Contemporary?

Hands down the Polynesian...it even has one of the best resturants...Ohana. Plus it has the beach where you can watch the fireworks and sip tropical drinks.

We've stayed at the Contemporary...great access to the monorail, Chef Mickey's, good shopping. Stayed at the Polynesian...beautiful atmosphere, 'Ohana, pool with the great slide, close to the TTC and the beach for watching the fireworks. The only drawback for me was having to go outside to get to everything; it rained most of the time we were there and I got tired of getting wet and the kids got lost in the dark after getting snacks.

I've stayed so many times at the WL that I've lost count. We feel the most comfortable there because the setting is much like where we live. Love the restaurants, the lobby with the huge fireplace, taking the boat to the MK or Contemporary & Fort Wilderness. The kids can wander the place for food or the game room and feel comfortable.
Its the little things that keep us going back. I'm hoping to try the Beach Club or Boardwalk soon, but we've planned that before & always end up back at the Wilderness.

For us, picking a resort is like a kid in the candy store. So many great places to choose. Many time we thought about other resorts but ended up at our favorite. It's like our comfort zone, we have been there, know the place well and know we won't second guess our selection. It's the unknown of the others, as I will compare to my favorite. Will the resort match our taste. But the flip side, we need to try different resorts to see if there are other we will like. Oh the decision on selecting a resort, but that's half the fun of planning (dreaming). :)

One thing we are going to do next time is try different restraurants at the resorts. :slurp: This will allow us to see other resorts.

The Polynesian will always be our favorite, the Wilderness Lodge has a beautiful lobby and the grounds are gorgeous; but my room was disappointing. The Swan is very nice; but I found it lacked the 'Mickey Mouse' feel to it, therefore my boys would be disappointed. The Contemporary will always hold a place in my heart. Back in 'the day' when there were only 5 places to choose from to stay on property, the Contemporary was awesome.
With all the good things I keep reading about the Boardwalk; I'm placing Boardwalk on my wish list!
