Fav All Star Resort?

I am trying to decide which All Star would be the best to stay at. Any suggestions? Is one more child/family oriented than others? or closer to specific Parks?

Thanks in advance for any input!

All-Star Sports is officially the closest to the parks, but only by a matter of feet--all the All-Stars are right together in a clump. They are close to Animal Kingdom, but a pretty good distance from all the other parks. All three have really cool theming, and all three are very kid-oriented. If you're watching your budget, Music and Sports are usually the ones that offer the lowest rates (sometimes as low as $49 a night). IMO, Movies looks the coolest, but you can take a half hour or so and walk around and look at all three one night if you like. If you don't have any kids, I recommend Music--Broadway is the quietest section. If you do have kids and won't mind having kids run past your door early in the morning, choose the building closest to the food court (Calypso in Music, but I can't remember which in the other two--your reservationist can tell you). Just remember that the closer to the food court and bus stops you are, the louder it will be around park opening times.

The All stars are very literally walking distance to each other!! I Should know I got off the bus in the Music resort while staying at Movies. A quick 5 minutes later I was walking into my resort. How old are your kids? That is a big factor. I have stayed at Movies with 3 kids but never ate breakfast in the food court there. Dinner was great though. I stayed in the Music with a friend of mine (No kids) and the shear amount of kids and running around in the morning made him crazy. All in all I tend not to lean to the Values because I prefer a bit more peace and quiet. I did like both the Movies (fabulous cute theming for kids) and Music ( a bit more grown up but still great for kids) I havent been to Sports yet but a coworker of mine has been there a number of times and her kids who are teens (17 &19) just dont want to stay anywhere else. As always when staying with Disney, there is a certain comfort level that I have and every resort I have ever stayted at has met or exceeded that!!! That is what I like, no gambling on substandard lodging!! Id say call up for the dates you want and see which one offers a deal in terms of price Usually when a special is offered it is only for the AS Sports and Music. Good luck and let me know if this helps

Out of the three of the All Stars, I liked the movies the best. I feel that it has the best theming. I can't get over how great the Toy story section of this resort is. However all three of the resorts are very close together.

Yes we too are All Star veterans. This last trip May/June was our first visit to All Star Movies. I must say all the help we received from this board made that trip great! We had five kids with us so we had two rooms that were next to each other. All three of the All Stars are nice hotels at a fair price. THis last visit we paid $60 a night at Movies and that was over Memorial Day weekend too. It was full but it wasn't loud. The kids in our group ranged from ages 2-15 and everyone found something they loved about Movies. We stayed in the Dalmation Bldg #1. close to pools, laundry, foodcourt, busses etc! but didnt cost extra like the Fantasia section. If you are going with younger kids...say 11 and under I would try for Movies. If you have kids that just love sports then go for that. No kids? then where ever you can get the best price! The theme is best at Movies. The food court has alot to offer. We did the family dinner for $19.99 a few times and no one went hungry ( that was when the parks closed early). good luck and don't forget to check www.mousesavers.com for any specials..we saved more from mousesavers than we did using our Disney Club discount!

The All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies Resorts are all great be it if you have kids or not. Whenever I go up for a weekend to Disney, I'll usually stay there with my girlfriend. The first time I stayed at the All-Star Music resort was with my family and we stayed in the Calypso building. We prefered to stay in that building because my dad has arthritis and can't walk long distances and when it starts raining or rains heavily, you can make a mad dash from the lobby to the building (though, the rains are so heavy in the summertime in Florida that even if you're out for 1 sec, you will get wet!). We also preferred that building because of the close proximity to the food court which is always a bonus. Hey, you never know when you're going to get that late night "munchie" and you have to run to the little marketplace in there. By the way, has anyone been there as of recent? They changed the menu boards over the food counters -- it's all computerized. Very cool! :)

Out of all of the "All-Star" resorts, I prefer music as I am a music person (I love music -- all kinds) and I dig the Broadway buildings. :)

But, by far.. the best resort is.. The Polynesian.
