Fastpasses...on eBay

you really shouldnt be getting fastpasses off of ebay anyways. Just stay away from them.

I think I did hear stories of disney asking ebay to take down some auctions........

Now I know that this is certainly frowned upon by Disney purists, many of which roam this forum. BUT! With all morals and ethics aside, would these, could these fastpasses that are sold on eBay actually work?

There are "regular" fastpasses with time frames available, and there are also "VIP" fastpasses that are advertised as being able to be used at any time on any ride. -Do both types exist? When would someone legitimately obtain a VIP Fastpass?

Has anyone actually tried these? What's the real scoop on these?...the most unbiased scoop! Keeping in mind I KNOW that these are against the rules. They just seem so interesting. Any advantage I can have over the early August heat and crowds certainly catches my attention.

Thanks!

I've never seen a VIP fastpass. If anyone has a picture would you mind sharing?

You can tell the sort of people that sell these things when the description includes: "HOT AS ______!!!"

Also notice near the bottom, near-concealed:

"Passes are for collector purposes only, how the passes are handled is the sole responsability of the purchaser." That's right, folks. They're trying to shift legal responsibility onto you.

In short, stay away.

Amazing, it says "Not For Sale" right on the pass, yet they're selling them? Disney may have to resort to barcoded Fastpasses to eliminate fraud.

Last month, we received these exact same style passes while we were waiting in Space Mountain. The ride broke, the lights came on. After about 20 minutes, they evacuated the ride. We were about 20 people away from boarding. Not sure if everyone got these passes, or just the people who were in the immediate queue area. Anyway, the CM's were handing them out, and they were valid until the end of the month (May). We kept them until the end of our trip, then on a boiling hot 95 degree day, at peak time, we used them for Splash Mountain because there was a 60 minute wait.

It's a shame that CM's (or whoever) have to resort to this, but it's typical of everything in today's society. Lie, cheat, and steal. The E-Bay seller will probably use their profits to fund their next political campaign.

There are probably people that scan a Fastpass into their computer, and print out copies for the day. This is probably why we sometimes see huge Fastpass backups (as well as regular queues), because there are more Fastpasses out there than what Disney distributed.

The worst offender that I ever saw on Ebay was a person selling a pin for $300 - looking closely it was a handicapped parking pass of some sort. Unbelievable. Ebay took it off quite quickly.

Thanks. As soon as I saw these passes it made me remember that my boyfriend, Adam, got one from a CM on space mountain. Adam was wearing his 1st Cav division (he's in the army) shirt and the CM saw it and started making small talk with him. Well it turns out that the CM has just got back from Iraq and he gave Adam the FP as a "thank you for serving our country" kind of deal. I thought it was cool. I remember that it was good for up to 3 people ro reride space mountain.

I've seen so many parents "cheating" at Disney with Fastpass and Single Riders queues, it makes me sick.

Recently we were at Everest, and went through the Fastpass line. When we came up to where they take the tickets (at the loading area), the loading area was backed up. We're standing there looking around. Behind us, there was a 30-ish year old mom with three girls, ranging from 9-12 years old. The mom got into an argument with the CM. The CM said the mom only handed him 2 Fastpasses, but there were 4 people. The mom insisted she gave the CM 4 passes. The CM said she didn't, she only gave him 2. The mom wouldn't give up. She then said loudly, "I had to wait 3 hours for our Fastpass time, and you're not going to let us all ride??" The CM finally allowed them to go through.

The mom and the 3 girls walked up behind us. The mom then pulled 2 Fastpasses out of her purse, handed them to two of the girls, and said they'll be able to ride again. They all smirked, the girls giggled. When they saw me looking at them, they all looked around like nothing happened.

I feel sorry for those girls. That's probably the way they'll grow up. Lie, cheat, and steal to get their way. Either that, or they'll get their rich daddy to buy them Fastpasses off E-Bay.

Unfortunately, as we all know, there are a group of people who believe that the rules do not apply to them. They would be willing to ruin someone else's vacation as long as it will benefit them. The people who lie about fastpasses, the people who will get in front of your kids at a parade, even though you waited there for an hour to get those seats, the people who will not give their seats on the bus to a child, or a women holding a baby. The sense of entitlement these people have is very frustrating.

These VIP Fastpasses are given to people for the rider switch program, or if the ride breaks down when you go. I agree it is sickening to see those Fastpasses show up on E-Bay. Is it really worth it to pay money for fastpasses that are free in the park? Ultimately you are only saving an hour or so and if you know how to work the fastpass system, there is no need for the extra expense. The only way to stop this though is to stop buying them on E-Bay... easier said than done.:(

We saw Gary Puckett (60's rock star) at the Epcot bandshell in May, and in between songs, he asked for ALL U.S. veterans to please stand up. About 50 guys proudly stood up (all throughout the crowd), and everyone began applauding, and the applause lasted about 30 solid seconds (much longer than any applause Gary received during his performance. :lookaroun ) I think my hands were sore the rest of the day because I clapped so hard.

As for Fastpasses, I believe there are theme parks that will take $150-$200 for a special pass to allow line cutting. In fact, Universal does this too (not sure of the cost) where you can buy a Universal Express Pass, good for the whole day.

In this society, all it takes is money, and you can break all the rules.

In addition to the forementioned ride difficulties they can be given out as customer service gifts. For example, we were at the park with a friend of mine for his birthday and were talking to a dream squad member for a short time. As we were just about to say goodbye - the CM pulled out a stack of the non-dated VIP fastpasses and gives every one of us (6 in total) a free fastpass.

Just a nice way to say 'happy birthday and enjoy the parks'

Mind you we didn't ask for anything just were asking a knowledgable CM some questions and she noticed the birthday button. So who says you don't get things just by being nice :)
