FastPass+ UnFair process Confirmed

Someone who spends more on a deluxe resort gets a bigger room than I do if I can only afford a value.
Someone who spends more on a parkhopper ticket can visit multiple parks a day, and if I only bought a standard base ticket, I can't.
Someone who spends more money on an on-site resort gets earlier access to Fastpass+ than I do.

It's simple. Those who spend more (or in this case, provide more benefit to the Disney company) tend to get more in return. That's not "discrimination" so much as cause-and-effect, and it's always been the way of life at Disney parks (and most other companies in a capitalist economy). Disparate results from disparate efforts does not equal unfairness.

Very well said :)

I did say its a strong word and I accept that but I used it to help generate a discussion - hence I changed the title to unfair process.

I agree its a fair perk for resort guests but its unfair to not allow anychance for others. Why not release 60% at 60 days and 40% at 30 days. Hence the perk still exists as all resort guests get a chance for 100% of allocation but at least the rest of us also get a shot

I understand the annoyance yet I don't know where they should draw the line. We booked our long trip last month around 2 weeks before we left, then (if we are going to use that word) it is discriminatory to us at the 2 week mark right? I always thought there should be for all attractions a small lottery of FP+ released the day of sometime after opening, to make it a little bit more interesting for all the guests paying admission to the parks that day.

FYI-A&E is 37 minutes at the moment. Wonder what it will be 30 minutes from now.

I've notified the ACLU, and they're looking into it.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised......
FYI, life isn't fair, regardless of what society tells you. Its Disney's process. They invented it. They can use it how they want.
But---But, my Sociology Professor at Commie U told us that everything should be on a "Level playing field" and that we all should have the best of everything handed to us.....
You can always stand in the Stand-By line. There is nothing saying that if you don't have a fastpass that you can''t do the attraction at all.
NO!!! they deserve to have everything that they want NOW!!!!
To Hell with this "wait for it", or pay for a perk crap!

It does to those who feel entitled to everything, right now, free, delivered to them on a silver platter.

As a guest who stays offsite of course I would love it if we all had the same perks, but I understand that just isn't going to be the case. I can't afford to stay onsite, and to be honest I don't like staying onsite .. therefore I'm not going to reap the benefits.

It's hard when people get used to something and then it changes. It's kind of like my place of employment at Christmas time. For years we always received Christmas bonuses and most people would expect the bonus and therefore spend it before it was even in hand.

One year we didn't receive one when business was slow and everyone acted like they had been seriously wronged in the worst way and they acted very entitled, when in reality the bonus should never have become an expectation, but just an added blessing that they were fortunate to receive from time to time.

If we have no chance of getting a ticket its prejudicial treatment and thats discrimination.

You have the same chance everyone else has---book a resort room, and you will have access to reservations 60 days in advance. If you don't, you won't. It turns out that you can book a resort room no matter what your race, gender, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation may be. So, this is in no way discrimination, and using the term in this way makes it clear that you have no idea what it actually means.

Ok! I'll say it "trollolololol"

I'll also say that I hate the concept of "fairness" when it comes to WDW. There is no such thing.

I liken this to parks where you can pay for front of the line access. i really don't like that idea and think it's unfair, but yet it exists.
this is the same thing, it's just that with your fee for the FP+ comes a hotel room thrown in for free. a hotel room at a value is often less than $100 a night, and this will provide up to 4 people (and one under age 3) with unlimited FP+ for the day. this is cheaper than a front of the line pass at most amusement parks.

Well okay I guess we can see where you are coming from but anyway...

Obviosuly the use of the term discriminatory was not correctly applied to the situation but Disney is creating a caste system that was not always there. This is a business decision and hey, they make the rules. But as noted numerous times throughout numerous threads this is another way to monetize the system. Another way for them to increase occupancy rates of their flagship business...hotels.

If Disney wants to give extra perks to onsite guests so be it, they have ADR +10(right) and EMH(which will be going the way of the dinosaur soon) and Magical Express(which is just a money grab in it's own right, to keep you as hostage). This is a clear decision to set on site guests at a distinct advantage above others. Which my socialist ideals are fine with but you have to recognize that this could be the start of more distinct caste system. Pay more and get better perks, which was not alwasy the way and they way the park was envisioned(despite the ticket coupon days)

Point of clarification :)

When DL first open the more money one spent the more rides one rode. If that's not a caste system then I don't know what is in a theme park. How many little Johnnys or Susies wanted to ride "just one more time" at DL and could not cause mom and pop would not or could not buy more tickets when at the same time little Reggie was riding till he puked because his mom and dad could? The accusations that this (spend more get more) is something new at Disney are false IMO.

The system has been monetized since day one at Disney. And there is zip zero nada wrong with that IMO, they are not a social program, they are a business.

Points for admitting your a socialist though, but at least you not a commie ;)
