FastPass Changes?

At WDW they may do the "Unlimited Fastpass" as they now have in Disneyland. If you book your vacation with either AAA or the Walt Disney Travel Company and you stay at one of the resort hotels and buy a park hopper ticket, you will be able to obtain unlimited fastpasses at any time for any attractions. They've had a similar program in Disneyland for awhile.

Hmm.. I didn't know that was happening. Maybe I should pay more attention... That's interesting that WDW is doing that... do you know when they started? Does anyone have more infromation about this?

As for the original thread, it seems like people were just simply using FP's correctly.

The 'timer' has been operating a long time, and is just for the standby entrance time. (They swipe your timer at the start and end of your queue).

Actually, the FLIK cards are also used for the FASTPASS queues and the Single Rider Lines (where they are available). Although the wait time for the FASTPASS Return Line is not displayed outside, it is recorded in a computer and checked on by the managers and coordinators from time to time to make sure that the line isn't too long.

The next time that you go to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan's Flight, take a look at the back of the first column as you enter either the Standby or FASTPASS Return Line. There should be a little box with a light on it. That's where the FLIK card gets scanned at those attractions before it is handed to a Guest.

He said they MAY do it at WDW. I'm doubtful they will, because there are simply too many people stay on property to make it work.

Actually, it's more restrictive than just staying on property. You must meet all of the requirements:
  • Book via AAA or the Walt Disney Travel Company
  • Stay at a Disney Resort (value and moderates might be excluded)
  • Buy the park hopper pass as part of your "package".
Disney has always given perks to certain "select" members.

Thats still probably 30,000-40,000 people at WDW. Maybe I'm a little too high on the numbers, but its still a lot of people.

AAA and the Walt Disney Travel Company would like to have those numbers, but they don't have them now. That's the reason why they might offer this "Unlimited Fastpass" incentive. The HCOE isn't yet drawing the guests that WDW had anticipated.

I seem to remember other perks for AAA members, but I can't remember what it is...maybe special parking places or parade spots or something like that, but it had to be for those who booked their trips through AAA.

The more we talk about this the more people will take advantage of the system.

I haven't seen many posts on this thread that explain how to take advantage of the system in an unintended manner. :lookaroun

I knew about the Singel rider one but not the FP. I know of the system because I was a FLIK 'holder' about 4 times last visit!! Thanks for the INFO!

I really don’t see WDW using the Ultimate Fast Pass either. The number of people that could be eligible for such a program to work would have to be incredibly small. The reason it works at DL and Universal is because there resort population is maybe 10% the size of WDW. Can you imagine the turmoil that would erupt at TT if the standby time was 5 hours at 10:00 AM because 8000 resort guests showed up with their Ultimate Fast Pass. About the only way I could see it working is if it was tacked on as a perk to Concierge service even then the number of people eligible might still be too high.

Yes, you are right. I have heard that to limit the number of eligible people that it might work similar to Extra Magic Hours. In other words, on selected days of the week the guests at different deluxe resorts would be granted the unlimited fastpass. For example on Mondays, guests at AKL would be the only ones entitled to unlimited fastpass. Tuesdays, guests at the Contemporary get the privilege. On Wednesday the Yacht Club & Beach Club , Thursday the Polynesian, Friday goes to Wilderness Lodge & Boardwalk Inn, Saturday for the Grand Floridian and then the process would repeat. Neither the Swan, Dolphin or any of the DVC resorts would be included.

Of course, the guests would still have to meet the other criteria of booking via AAA or the DTC and buying a park hoppers as part of the package.

There are two things to bear in mind with that story from Yee.

There is no indication of WHO wrote that email he printed.

He's been on an anti-fastpass crusade for years.

Cheers.
