Fast Pass - Slinky Rollercoaster is impossible!

Holy cow! I was online at the start time ready to make our fast passes for the new slinky rollercoaster and they were already sold out. Did this happen to anyone else?

For those that have waited in line for the coaster, how bad is it if we go to that ride first thing in the morning?

I managed to get a FP for Slinky for the last day of our trip, and I know my son also managed to get one for the last day of his trip. We are both doing trips of approximately a week. If you aren't going to be there for at least a week, I think that will be a very hard FP to reserve.

Always happens with new attractions. Try for later in your trip for new attractions because there are others who are already within the 60 day window when yours starts.

Always try to schedule the peak-demand attractions at the end of your trip. The people who check in a few days or a week before you have already had the chance to book FastPasses for the dates early in your trip.
That must be why there weren't any days left. We are only going for a quick trip so we will just have to wait in line. We were able to get the Alien Swirling Saucer fast pass though.

Right. When you think about the families who checked in for a full week and got there a week before you, they were able to book their FP+s for your check-in day seven days before you could.

That’s not really how it works. Keep checking every once in awhile. They’re not all gone. You might randomly pop onto the site at 2pm next Tuesday and find it available. (But more likely the night before or day of your trip. We do it all the time.)

Since you have an Alien FP you will not see any Slinky FPs unless you try modifying your Alien FP. Both are tier 1.

Look out for DHS park hours being extended - a few days later they will add more FPs.

But keep looking (by modifying that Alien FP), because people change their plans all the time and FPs open up. You may get lucky, even though you have a short trip this time. It is one of the drawbacks of short trips, but not insurmountable! Good luck. :)

This happened to us, too. We've had a trip planned for 6 months. Staying on site from mid-week through Sunday. The first day I could make passes came around, I was on the computer ready to book, and couldn't get a fast pass for the ride until Sun evening. That wouldn't work, because we're leaving Sun afternoon. I was more than ticked at the time, but we just decided we're just going to try and rope drop it and see what happens.

I really couldn't believe THAT many people had the ride booked for mid-September ahead of us.

Same here! With all the construction, etc. at HS, we have decided to not go to HS this trip. They have made a complete mess of getting into HS and torn down the coolest bus stops. We cannot seem to get FP's for Slinky Dog and the best attractions have closed. It was, by far, my favorite park, but now don't even care about going. :(

This is how we feel. We are mainly going to check out TSL and making it only a half day before our MVMCP that night. We will just have to rope drop Slinky which is fine. I feel like a lot of people feel like how you do and will feel that way until Star Wars is open.

I like Star Wars, (just like, not love) but that will not be a deciding factor for us going to HS. (Probably keep us away) Just too many changes (not in a good way) for my liking. We used to go and wander around just for the ambiance, in the evening especially. We feel like that is gone. We could sit on a bench in the main area before the chinese theatre and people watch. I don't think they have the benches any longer. Just missing the HS of old....

Struggled to get one for the first week of my vacation and had to settle with a 4pm one for slinky. Not ideal but happy with that. Got one for my second week at 10am it is certainly easier to find what you want the longer your stay 😃

I planned our day at Hollywood Studios as the last day of our 8-day trip. So hopefully I can get a slinky dog FP at the 67-day mark. FOP will be at the 65-day mark and is more of a concern, so will hope for the best on both.

I went to DHS on Aug 28, and was unable to secure a FP+ for Slinky at 60 days prior. I was able to get FP+ for TSMM, and we rode it 2 times in standby as well. We waited in Standby on Slinky for about 25 minutes, although it was raining, and was shut down for most of the day due to lightning (storms, not McQueen).

The Standby Line for Slinky has not been out of control recently -- right now at 2:15 pm on Tuesday, the wait is only 55 min. So FP+ is not imperative for this ride.
