Fast Pass question?

Can you swipe your ticket during Morning EMH for a fast pass ticket? Or do they only use the machine during regular park hours?

We are visiting DHS on a day when there is morning EMH and I'm hoping to get on TSM as soon as we get there; I was wondering if I can swipe my ticket to get a FP to ride it again later?

I am almost positive you can for TSM at least. I was at an EMH for DHS on 7/12 and the fast pass machines were up and running at TSM at about 8:10 AM.

That's definitely a perk for getting up early for EMH.
Yes but you will want to get there pretty early. We arrived about quarter to 8:00 and the crowd was already pretty huge. Granted it was July but I would still try to be at the turnstiles at 7:30.

Thanks for the heads up.I planned to be there a little early.
So what happens to people that aren't staying on property?
Do they just stand around the turnstiles outside the park and wait to 9:00 am? It must be a nightmare trying to get through the crowd.

Pretty much. The crowd is not to bad though. If you are there at 7:30 pretty much everyone there is a resort guest. Off property guests don't seem to start showing up and causing a problem until about 8:30.

How do the cast members know if a guest is a resort guest or a day guest. I was just at WDW two weeks ago and our family stayed on property but had AP's. We were never required to show our park passes as we entered, so how does Disney keep the day guests out until 9:00 AM or official park opening time?

Thanks!

They are supposed to check your room key but things do not always go as planned.
