Fast Pass cancelling itself out...

Sorry, I meant to add that the biggest fast pass problem we had was with Winnie the Pooh...fast passes went SUPER FAST there and then the stand in line was over 90 minutes most times...the kids didnt get to ride that ride very many times~

When I was down there in October, on one particular day, the FastPass line for Rock 'n Roller Coaster was all the way down the wall and wrapped back around passed the FP machines. Along aside the extremely full regular line.

Weird thing was, the next day I went about the same time, and there was 5 people in the outside queue line, and the rest were lined up inside the building (to the marble doors). :lookaroun

There are better deals offsite...having been to Disney twice this year and heading back in Dec. Memorial Day weekend we used priceline.com and got the hampton inn offsite for 39.00 a night. End of June we used priceline again and ended up at the Ramada for 25.00 a night. So to say that Disney is more affordable with their "value" resorts is a joke. Disney gets enough of my money without us having to fork out any more for a hotel room that we only use sparingly. Fast pass is a Godsend...and single rider lines are even better.

Well, Fastpas works and it doesn't. Its a good way for tourism, and it works great to plan the day, but i mean sometimes this doesn't even work there running out. I just think they should get a system like Universal has at least.

Regardless, Floridians do not stay at the Resort every time they visit. People REALLY need to stop complaining about Fastpass. You can complain all you want about 1 hour Fastpass lines but allow me to refresh your memory of the condition of lines before Fastpass. The Tower of Terror had lines in excess of two hours; Test Track has ALWAYS had lines around 150 minutes in the middle of the day. What Fastpass fixed was the "cycles" people tended to follow going on rides, which would leave lines attrocious at certain times of the day and shorter at others; Fastpass spreads riders out better, making even the Stand by lines the same or shorter than they used to be--keep in mind, the Stand-By line is just what it sounds like...you stand by for a space to open up...thus you only move every few minutes.

When did Disney fix the Test Track queue line? It was all messed in February when I went.

I agree with DogsRule's post... How quickly we forget about pre-fastpass conditions... Read an old Birnbaums guide book, they even warn you about huge lines around holidays and during the summer months... I have many stories from friends who went the the MK, for instance, and only got to ride a few rides even though they were there for the entire day...

Let's look at it this way... Fastpass isn't a magic cure for lines, but it sure help things out a lot... If you're looking for short lines go to a local park near you... If you're looking for quality attractions come to Disney, but stop your complaining!

well staying off site wouldn't have been cheaper for us..we flew down..so say we could have gotten two rooms at $40 each w/tax = $400 per room....then we would have to rent avan..say we could get that for $35 a day that would be $350 plus tax and gasoline...then we would have to pay for parking everyday...plus be held up at TTC to allow onsite guests to get into MK in the mornings we wouldnt have saved any money by staying off site...only would have lost time which to me is what is most costly at Disney...you waste it and you are flushing money down the toilet. Its just what worked for us...I know some people wouldnt stoop to an All Star and others would never give Disney an extra dime by staying onsite..we had never been to ASMovies before and the kids absolutely loved it~ one whole roll of film just on the resort~ but to each his/her own~

why not make it for Floridians/AP's and resort guests...how could Disney be sued for adding a perk to people who pay for the priveledge of being onsite? they havent been sued for Eride nights which are wonderful and they are only for resort guests~ what do Floridians do about Eride nights? just curious! I mean Disney wont change how it is anyway but still just curious do Fl residents have a way to take advantage of Eride nights? I thought you HAD to be a resort guest w/multi day park passes!

I could go either way on the issue. It helped me immensely this spring when I was down there the week before Easter. The only problem was the line for Test Track was 3 hours! The sigle Riders was 1 hr 15 min.! And forget about FassPass...those were gone right within 2-3 hours of the park being open.

It wasn't that bad for me because I go once/twice a year but everyone else I was with had never been there before and they really wanted to ride it.

When you look at an attraction, like Test Track for example, you have to take into consideration that it has an OHRC... This basically means that there is a set amout of people that can ride it to due to capacity limitation... Most attraction have a OHRC of between 1200 - 1800 an hour... This means that in a given day (9am to 9pm park hours) 14400 - 21600 people can ride the attraction... Also take into consideration any other capacity limiting events, such as break downs... Now Disney doesn't make their park attendance public knowledge, but I can assure you that on bussier days the numbers can be well over the daily capicity of a given attraction... What's this mean??? Well Fastpass or no Fastpass there are going to be people in the park that WILL NOT be able to ride certain attractions ever if they really want to...

I agree with u alot DisneyReports.... Im not complaining at all. Just sometimes Fastpasses can be a pain, I have only used it a few times and sometimes doesn't work out good for me. But sometimes they should even shut them down when there's not a huge capacity of riders on a ride. Like one time i went to MGM and people were using fastpasses on RNR and there was no wait at all! But fastpass was the start of a good future for Disney.

with all this fastpass talk, i think the management of disney has a right whether to shut down its fastpass distribution if they want. if the ride suddenly goes down for an hour, there may be some struggling to keep up with the fastpass demand. if it goes well above an hour, to at least 2 or 3, then there is a severe problem. there is just too much fastpass demand. which in many cases, they must shut down the standby line,(in which i explained in my above post with the test track situation)

Fast pass is a great idea. And it has come in handy when the parks get busy. But when there are no line or lines of 15 mins or less. I do not see the need for it. They would probably save some money in the process. Not much but some.
