Ah Well..As read on this site,Captain Jacks at downtown is to close this year..Ive walked past it many a time to get the boat back up river, but never tried it..I think it's in a really good position overlooking the Sassagoula river, and would love to see a top notch seafood restaurant opening up,serving everything from Sushi to Shellfish..But what would you propose to Disney as a restaurant suggestion.?;)

Although we don't eat sushi, there are so many places you can get sushi at Disney. I would love to see a raw bar/cocktail type restaurant there. Shrimp, lobster, crabs, clams, oysters, etc. We have several here at the Jersey shore and they're VERY popular and alot of fun :)

Shame, the place had great views, and the food was pretty good. My wife was upset that it was closing, but we will find another restaurant to visit, so no biggie.

But a question, Is the place being totally demolished or is it just undergoing rehab and renovations?

Personally, something different that DTD has never seen before. A couple of ideas in mind. A BBQ restaurant, something beyond what Flame Tree BBQ offers. A Greek restaurant that's not fancy like Kouzzina serving traditional Greek favorites like moussaka and gyro wraps! A Korean restaurant perhaps, maybe?

We tried it on our way out of town this past trip. The location and view of the water was pretty nice. Food was about average for seafood. Nothing spectacular but nothing that would make me say I need to go back there again. I say bring in a Disney-esk version of a Cracker Barrel with comfort foods with the decor updated to suit that. Or...Something that I just thought of that might fit a little better going with the waterfront theaming. Cajun restaurant which could still offer sea food and serve Gator as well. The only thing with that concept would be a redundancy with House of Blues offerings on the other side. Definitely not looking Chain restaurant here.

I like the idea, but I think the issue is that you can get much of that just across the river at Fulton's. Of course, that's not to say that Disney Springs couldn't do better than Fulton's. They certainly could. I do think you're on to something about what might be on tap for that location, though. Something kind of dive-y and definitely with an emphasis on a good bar really belongs right there on the water.

I would love a way to get the food from the parks at dtd. Sometimes I am only in the area for a few hours and I can't go to the parks but would love a dole whip.

Rather than farewell I would say good riddance. Trust me Hatter you did not miss out on this one so do not pine away for having not tried it. It was not absolutely awful or anything but was really run of the mill and did not hold a candle to most other eateries available at the world...I do not have a hatred for the place or anything but happy to see it go so that it opens up a space for a new (and hopefully exciting) opportunity!
