Fantasy - A Celebration of Pure Magic

This is my idea for the new MK parade. Let me know if you think I should continue past this. I didn't want to go too far for it to be a waste ;)

So you’re standing waiting for the parade on Main Street, it’s the first day of The Magic Kingdom’s 40th Anniversary celebrations and the background music grows louder and a fanfare plays down the street before:
‘Hello everybody, Mickey Mouse here and welcome to our celebration of 40 years of dreams and magic! In 1971, this Magic Kingdom opened and everybody could live their Fantasy, with a little help from Tinkerbelle of course! So now, it is my pleasure to present our Fantasy Parade – a celebration of pure magic! Awrh, gosh! This is gonna be swell!’
And now the music builds again and the opening fanfare plays again, launching us into the underliner... and coming down the street is the opening float.

Update: A Magical Begining

A Magical Beginning

The first section comprises of the Parade’s logo, glittering thanks to some bright LEDs, and surrounded by a glass Cinderella castle, which is detailed with blue and gold spires/turrets, swirls within the glass, etc. The float is operated either by remote or pushes along by two of the parade marshals, all of whom will be in appropriate dress for their section – as opposed to the rather too obvious outfits at the moment – meaning these ‘operators’ have the look of grand castle staff, in hats, etc.

The second section is lead by those who have the ability to create this ‘magical beginning’ – so the three fairies, Fairy Godmother and the Blue Fairy and of course Tinkerbelle, who is standing on the float. This is a raised platform which rotates and has a golden rail around it, surrounded by glass sculpture and flowers, with golden spirals reaching up at the back with stars attached, very much like those in the Parade of Dreams’ opening float. These would also sparkle occasionally and rotate/move somehow.

This leads us nicely into the...

Lands of Imagination

This is where we meet Alice, The Mad Hatter, The White Rabbit, the Tweedles, Queen of Hearts & her cards, the Cheshire Cat, the caterpillar, Peter Pan & Wendy and the lost boys of course. The characters from Peter Pan lead the float down the parade route, as Peter and his gang attempt to impress Wendy with their skills – sword fighting, etc. As well as interacting with guests.

The float looks very much like a garden, which of course belongs to the Queen of Hearts! Alice and Hatter, along with the Queen, are aboard the float. The Hatter is attempting to hold a tea party amongst the rose bushes of half-painted red roses, while the Queen scorns him and the crowd for encouraging him. Alice simply looks on and giggles at the funny sight. High above this scene, the Cheshire cat looks on with that signature grin, spinning around and around, seemingly in mid air above the greenery.

On the back of the float, the Caterpillar is posed, puffing out his smoke, with the words ‘and who-are-you?’ cleverly hidden. The Tweedles follow the float and would for the first time be face characters, allowing them to be silly to guests, pull faces etc, and distract the playing cards following from their marching.
