Fantasmic! Refurb Schedule Change

I'd like to see them keep Fantasmic, but update the heck out of it. Add in the new characters and Princesses like Tiana and Rapunzel, add in some new songs from movies not represented, maybe even make it a bit longer.

That'd be great, because right now it's great but it feels stale to me.

Waiting at Disneyland for Fantasmic is miserable. No seating, shoulder to shoulder, and for many - a really poor view.

And don't forget very tired feet after a long day at Disneyland!

But at least they sometimes have some live entertainment as a pre-show, which is no longer the case at the Studios.

I've had a horror show there watching Fantasmic, and then the last time I saw it was great. I stood right behind one of the light/sound towers in an area that seemingly would have had an obstructed view. I was told correctly by a cast member that the light tower would rise up for an unobstructed view and while I was closer the previous "horror story" time, I had a much better experience a bit further back and behind this tower.

If you look at the permits thread, youll see that they have filled for construction permits for Fantasmic. They had Data Line, electrical, and lagoon construction.

^^ Are those the only things they have done?

Those are just the permits. So I dont know exactly what they did. But those are what they asked for. Lagoon construction, something concerning lights, and they installed data cables from the sounds of it. What are they for? Anyones guess.

Took this photo around 5:45 - definitely expanded the stage and added new projectors. The show itself has not changed from the original version - some new lights/projected images throughout but besides that everything appeared to be the same. Everything ran smoothly and looked fresh, bright and new. I had a great time tonight and so did my friends who saw the show for the first time (they were dying to stick around from 8:30 to see it again). If you have any questions feel free to ask :animwink:

Edit: I haven't seen the show since 2010 so maybe its not expanded but since the last time I went it looked like it has expanded. Either way it looks really fresh and new

Images still looked the same as they did before so i'm guessing not - during some scenes there were some extra projections on the mountain (such a bubbles). Definitely some extra lighting and lasers. Oh! and the water screens appeared to be a lot bigger than what I previously remembered!

It's a shame to see what has become of WDW's Fantasmic, especially compared to Disneyland's. Hard to believe the show was done by the same company. They missed a great opportunity to do something positive and blew it...once again.

(This is the part where I could rant about WDW entertainment in general and how it lacks when compared to other Disney resorts or what the place with the real magic down I-4 has coming. But I won't.)

You do realize the poster above with the picture said the show looked fresh and clean? Yeah its not the DL show, but the WDW version is still popular and from the sounds of it, it got well needed tune up.
