we are going to WDW in October. It says they Hollywood studios closes at 7.30 but Fantasmic is on at 8pm. How does this work?

It's easy attractions close at 7:30pm but of course the people seeing Fantasmic at 8pm can go and watch the show then you leave after its over. This is common how it's done at HS for Fantasmic. Just like Epcot a lot of nights in the fall closing is 9pm and Illuninations starts at 9pm. 
Yeah I saw that but couldn't change it. That's iPads for you huh.

Lol no worries.
Remember queue opening and seating starts 30-40 minutes before showtime, so the "ropes" on Sunset will probably be opened before the park is due to close.

A few years back we did the character breakfast at Crystal Palace for the first time. I got 8:05am reservations on a day the park opened at 9am. As we got to the TTC my wife saw the sign saying MK opening at 9am and accused me of being incompetent booking a time when the park was closed. I'm still waiting for the apology from her nearly 4 years later.
