I'm going this August and I was wondering about the state of the show. I know they had a refurb a couple of months back but is everything working as it should be:veryconfu

If you are coming in August, I would ask in late July....

I believe there have been reports that there have still been problems ...

I wanted to chime in and say I saw the 8:30 show just last night and it appeared that all effects were working as well as all characters were in place. I do have to say though that two of the monkey barges did side swipe each other toward stage right. Whoopsie!

I went in Feb. and the character boat that comes out at the end was completely absent. My family and I were upset because this is basically the reason why we go and wait an hour before hand to get a good seat. If we had known before hand that they were eliminating one of the biggest and best elements from the show, we would From what I have read on here, different elements can be MIA on any given night. Fantasmic is a mess right now and needs to have a lengthy refub. I dont think anyone would argue with that.

I was there on last thursday's show. I was told beforehand that Fantasmic was a mess but really it's nothing show ruining. Dragon Maleficent moved rather well and Mickey still put on a great show in the sorcerer's hat.

I just noticed this on the calendar: May 16
Morning EMH
8:00am to 9:00am
9:00am to 10:00pm
Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! 3pm
Fantasmic! 9pm, 10:30pm

Maybe it's because it's been so long, but have they always run shows after the park has closed? That's the day I'll be at DHS and love the fact that they have a 10:30pm show. Can anyone confirm?

I went with family yesterday and went out of our way to see the show for the first time in several years. The show was never really one of my favorites, but I remember it being a great show nonetheless. After hearing about all the problems lately, I think I set myself up to be disappointed. So, it's hard for me to say if everything was in working order.

There were some elements I remember being better when I first saw it--the live action scenes were more impressive (the Jafar snake used to walk around the stage, didn't it? It just stood in one spot and stared at Mickey who awkwardly shuffled to and fro before "finding" the lamp). I don't remember the water screens being used as much and for as long as they used it for. It stunk that the wind was blowing toward the audience, too. We got soaked. The dragon appeared to work... but I remember it being a lot more impressive. All of the elements for the finale worked, and was the best part of the show. But otherwise, the show is really outdated. The nearby fireworks from Reflections of Earth competed with the extended water screen scenes.

I know a lot of folks are attached to the show, but it either needs a major plussing--or a replacement. I'd love for World of Color to replace it, but I'd be happy with something really spectacular like Disney Dreams from DLP.

In the summer, DHS does a Fantasmic! show 30 minutes after park close. It's all because of sunlight issues and having to run the shows later.

I feel like we need to create a Fantasmic! tab because every week someone starts one asking HOW IS FANTASMIC?! It's not really a rumor/news, I feel like these should be moved to general discussion based on everyone's comments this thread saying that it's operating just fine at this time.
