I kind of expected sometime 2021.

We got a more precise summer 2022 for GOGCR.

As you said in another thread:

You get a year…then a season…then a date a couple months out.

I know the steamboat was/is being rebuilt.

The whole area has sat for over a year without use so I'm sure there's plenty of work needed to get it back to operational standards.

Refurbishment usually indicates repair/restoration rather than upgrade but hopefully they'll take this time to modernize some elements, too.

Over the past few months, we got to see the mountain repainted, steamboat torn apart and reassembled, entire lighting system removed, new bigger pipes for the fountains installed, dragon removed from cave, etc.

The only real improvements we could tell this far, as opposed to just regular refurbishments is the new fountains and lighting capabilities.

Projection mapping could be coming as they would have to install the projectors along the waterline or above on the structures that house the overhead lights and speakers.

Festival will be back before Valentines Day.
Fantasmic! will be back around Guardians opening (Summer)
