Fantasmic Dinner Package

Hi, I'm heading to Disney for the first time in November and has arranged for the Fantasmic! Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's (had to settle for lunch as dinner was all booked up). Is the dinner package worth it for the show seating? How early in advanced of the show do we need to be there to get the reserved seating? Thanks!

Welcome aboard and I think it's worth it to avoid the crowds waiting to get in. About 45 minutes before the show should be fine. But with the seating tests I'd keep an eye out closer to your trip to see if less time is needed.

There are some potential changes coming to Fantasmic - have a read of Disney will be testing allocated seating for Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios next week

If you are on the Dining Plan and were going to eat somewhere in HS I would say it is good value. You get an app, entree and an assortment of desserts for somewhere in the $50-60 range. The seating area was in the very centre section of the amphitheatre. We were able to enter the amphitheatre with less than 30 minutes until the show and still got great seats.

I would agree with this, if you are on dining plan, or would eat that meal anyway go for it. But probably not worth booking it just for the seating.

I'm a fan of the dinner package but if you don't have it then get there early, grab a snack and drink at the venue find a place as near the center as possible and soak up the pre show atmosphere .

In 2012, we went in mid-September which is a slower time of year. Wanted to see Fantasmic, but chose not to do the fantasmic dining package because all the info said we didn't need it. Well, we walked over to wait in line about 45 minutes before the first show and both shows were full, as the second show already had people standing in line and they closed the line. We were unable to see Fantasmic that night. We are going again this September and are going to eat the Fantasmic dining package at Mama Melrose's as well so we will see the show, weather permitting. We are on the free dining plan, so to me it's a no-brainer.

Is this just one table credit on the dining plan? I'm considering whether to try for free dining for my honeymoon next year, so I'm looking for every advantage.

It's been a few years since we did the package, but when we did it....F! was at 6:30 and we were told that we had to arrive at the special entrance between 5:45-6pm.

As for lunch vs. dinner...it could be an omen. Dinner spots are still pretty early. Ours was at 3:50pm. It took them so long to seat us and service was slow that we weren't leaving MM until around 5:45pm. Nothing like sprinting through crowds with a stroller to make it by the end of the special seating window.

We did late lunch early dinner last summer and it worked out really well! Our tummies were full and happy all day long and we had fabulous seats for Fantasmic. I believe we arrive 45 min to an hour early but I can't quite remember. Take advantage of the package - order whatever you would like! We all got steak and salads and they were DELICIOUS!
