Where can I find information on the Fantasmic dinner package? How far in advance do I have to reserve this? Is is a decision that can be made day-of?

Also, where do you call to book this?

We did the Hollywood and Vine pkg. I was lucky to walk in as MGM opened and got the reservation for that night. The only times available was between 5-5:30.

We did Mamma Melrose last August on our first night...we had a horrible trip, thunderstorms the whole day. It was nice to have a good meal & not have to wait on line for the show. It really is worth it during the busy times, but I'm not sure about the more quiet times.

Book Early

You really need to book the package early. We booked our vacation back in March and didn't book the dinner package right away. During our entire stay all the restruants were booked solid.

I was told to call back on ocasionally to see if there were any cancellations. It took 3 weeks of calling but finally just 2 days ago we got our reservations! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

My advise is definately make the reservation ASAP. You always have 24 hours prior to cancell without a cancellation fee.

Good luck and have a magical vacation.

I made reservations for Hollywood & Vine 3 months in advance and the only seating they had available was 4:30!! So we're just going to skip lunch and have dessert since dinner will be so early.

I've never done this package before so hopefully it's worth it!

We've done Mama's and H&V. We LOVE Mama's and I will never go back to H&V. It was crowded, noisy, and the line was always long at the buffet. I love Italian food and Mama's is a lot easier to relax and cool off in.

I agree with others - BOOK EARLY! I called 3 months prior to our upcoming June 4-7 trip and there was a 1 hour window left for dinner at Mama's.

I do highly recommend it though - its nice to walk in at T-30 minutes and just sit in a reserved section. The view is JUST FINE from that side. You're still straight on to one of the mister-projections and see all the barges, the boat, and the scenes.

Hollywood & Vine at 4:30 was the way to go for us. My wife needs to eat exactly around that time. If you train yourself to eat dinner a little earlier you enjoy: faster service, fresher food selection at the buffet at H&V, less crowded.

Digest your meal by going to one of the shows, which should be less crowded because by that time most people will be flooding the restaurants. Hit Tower of Terror or Rock n Roller coaster before you see Phantasmic to get your blood pumping, because you're going to sit a good 30 to 45 minutes before the show starts. Grab a snack before you go as well.
