Fantasia-A Musical Masterpiece!
Fantasia-A Musical Masterpiece! A new, amazing IMAX motion simulated movie, where it literally feels like your riding through the movie, Fantasia. The show takes place in a large dome-shaped theater. The seats of the theater are in pairs of two and look like black boxes (capable of holding bags, purses, etc.) When guests first enter the theater, everything is in black and white; the walls, the seats, the screen. Once the show begins, the theater slowly gets dark. Each seat moves up and out of its position, feeling as if the guests are actually flying through the scenes. This technique is very similar to the one used in Soarin’. There are even lights and projectors equipped into each individual car. As soon as the first chord is hit, the theater “magically” comes alive in a frenzy of sound and color. Guests experience many of the scenes from the movies such as, The Nutcracker Suite, Night on Bald Mountain, The Firebird, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. These are only a few scenes that will grace this 15 minute spectacle. One of the most memorable scenes is when the winged demon, Chernabog, summons the spirits of the dead. It looks as if the spirits are flying throughout the theater, with the use of projectors. But alas, the grand finale is saved for Mickey, as he gracefully commands the sky, as stars shoot back and forth across the theater. The show ends with a big bang, as all the stars form together to make a large blast of colorful light. Afterwards, the theater darkens, as guests are slowly lowered to the ground and exit the theater.
