I just discovered the AP offer for "late summer rates" which ends 11/5. There was no link under "special offers" but I already had a resort reservation and found it under the "change" feature. Just saved some $$!

Edit: Link is there now. Must have gone live while I was already in the change feature.

Maybe the travel agent want you to go through him/her and get a commission for services? Yes, you can definitely do this on your own. I just did it. I will concede that there may be a restriction if first done by the travel agent and then unable to change. Don't know. You'll have to discover that for yourself.

No, we had the same trouble when trying to extend my stay by a night and change the category.. we had to do a new reservation. The contemporary had "length of stay requirements" for theme park view rooms that week, I had to book a lake view originally, which I didn't want, so finally gave in and did the extra night.

But, that's different than just changing to a discount.

Ah ok. I'm hoping that I'll catch a threa with passholders announcing a discount for the thanksgiving week and 12/3-12/7. I know my chances are slim.but would be happy with even a few discounted days!
