Fall 2011 D23 Subscriber's Gift

Sorry...just had to do that.

The gift from D23 included with the Fall 2011 issue being received by subscribers right about now is a patch commemorating any of eight images from the Walt Disney World Preview Edition guidebook released in 1970 (and reprinted in the new issue of D23). I received the patch for Liberty Square...and while I appreciate D23 for including the gift with my magazine subscription, if anyone receives one with the patch for Fantasyland with the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea design I would be interested in trading or some other type of negotiation if you are looking/willing to part with it...

Mine is the Adventureland one with the Swiss Family Treehouse.... wonder why they do not simply give us the option for $5 more to get the entire set...

These are being distributed in a similar manner as the previous two sets of commemorative patches (first set was for Disneyland attractions that came online in 1959 & the other set was the old EPCOTCenter Futureworld Pavilion logos) -- one per subscription mailer sent at random.

The whole sets become available during the D23 Expo in the merchandise area in the convention hall. Usually it's just one or two from each that catch my eye...

I suspect you'll be able to purchase the entire set at a future D23 event. I was able to purchase the entire Future World patch set at Destination D at Disneyland last year.

I got the Adventureland Tiki Room patch. Couldn't have asked for a better selection. It makes up for the Epcot "The Land" one I got last time. :lol:

I have quite a few of these cool D23 patches now. I am trying to think about something to do with them besides throwing them in a drawer. What have you done with you collectible patches?

On a recent trip to WDW I picked up a satchel/messenger bag that was designed for the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom that I'll be attaching my D23 patches too.

Because they want you to buy more copies of the magazine for $15 each hoping that you'll be able to collect all 8 patches.

On a different note, is anybody else upset that there is no Tomorrowland patch, but 3 Adventureland patches and 2 Fantasyland patches? I realize that there wasn't a TL image for the Walt Disney World Preview Edition guidebook released in 1970, but you'd think they'd create one now just to round out the collection.
