Facebook....Who has one?

I've been on Facebook for a pretty long while now. While the initial excitement has worn off, it does have it's uses. It's a way to get into contact with college students--send messages (like PMs), join groups with people who have common interests, find people in your classes, find your friends who go to school all over the U.S. There are no blogs, just mainly a database of college students with all the info they choose to put up about themselves. It's better than any phonebook! Oh, and everyone has their own "wall" on which people can post messages.

the groups are the most fun feature--people join and can post on message boards for each individual one.

and you can "poke" someone. a useless feature, but funny nonetheless.

a new feature has been added so people can announce parties and schoolwide events.

I'm also sure that the site is open to suggestions. Remember, the site only came out in October. Any new features to recommend would make it better!

I made a recommendation to search for any new user who has signed up recently at your university.
Here's me to add.

Haha, I ment you can find people who are obseesed with things that you are--like "I Love Conan O' Brien" or "I Love Fraggle Rock" or "Disney"....it's like the threads on this site; it's hard to find people you randomly meet who happen to share in your obsessions...but it's not like you make your best friends or stay holed up in your room all day. Just a cute feature to have fun with, not to base your social life around by any means. I did, however, meet one of my good friends when he added me and started chatting online--but personally, I've never added anyone I haven't met. I usually meet people--and then tell them to add me.

If you can find people from your university there than that is fine, but not everyone goes to a bar. You can look up people to get to know them, and then go out to do whatever.
