While on the monorail tonight after the MK closed, as we went by the UoE, it looked as if the ExxonMobil sign unger the main UoE sign was removed. ExxonMobil dropped their sponsorship quite a long time ago, but the sign had remained. I wonder if they are finally "just taking the sign down", or if a new sponsor is coming on board.

They've removed the signs from inside too. The big ones in the pre-show are gone, the signs in the exit are black (turned off?) and all the Exxon stuff from just outside the exit is gone.

The second one is kinda blurry.. sorry.

While ExxonMobile choose not to renew their sponsorship a long time ago, their contract was not yet expired. Now that contract expired November 1st I believe the signage came down.

This may mean something good for UoE. Would getting a new sponser inable any alterations? The show could be tweeked a bit IMO

I doubt any updates/upgrades would come from a new sponsor, the ride was updated 10 years ago, and is still pretty current. WoL will get the update/upgrade/replaced before UoE will.

UOE already got it's rehab into Elens energy adventure from the previous film/ride....

(now i wonder who can sponsor a ride around energy... progress energy perhaps??)

I may be in the minority here...but that building is HUGE....and you could put a very long omnimover ride in that space that would take more people, and still teach.

To me, that ride seems like a waste of space.

The chances of another omnimover being built at Epcot are probably not too great.

I like the current version of UoE quite much. And I really like the ride system. It is the predacessor for THe Great Movie Ride, Tower of Terror, TD Pooh, and I think there might be others.

Anyway, Given that Future World attractions are set for every certain amount of years, UoE should be having a rehab soon. I do like the current incarnation. (though the preshow on the old version was really really really really awsome with the shifting screens).
