Extremely slow forums.....

I finally got in...yay....

anybody else experiencing the forums going really slow today...as far as a page loading...??

I am on Cable at home.....
And DSL here at the office....and at both places it is loading reaaaallllly slow.

Actually, I was having lots of trouble yesterday morning and afternoon. Today, it took me a while this morning, but it seems to be running better now. But it's good to know I wasn't the only one having troubles. (BTW, I am on a T1 here at the office so I don't think its our connections).

Yeah...I downloaded some stuff at home this morn and checked some websites....and it was zipping right along..... so its the forums then....thanks....Now I know I am not insane....:lol:

I finally gave up on trying to read everything after I didn't even make it to news and rumors.

I got the top part with the banner and down to the links telling which forum/thread I was in, then it crept along and took about 5 minutes and several reloads to load the rest of the page.

LOL I didnt wanna read this! I was hoping the new server platform was up to the job. Is it running slow now?

It isnt server load, because things are running fast as lightning here in the UK, so it must be a transatlantic bandwidth issue.

Can you run this speed test for me?

The forums seem to be running a bit faster now... than they were this moring and mid-day here in the US.

Any speed over about 30K should give reasonable performance. Anything over 100k should be perceived as fast. Over 200K should be almost instant.

The speedtest is running on the same server, so those figures are very accurate for measuring the forum speed.

For those of you that have had to almost give in waiting, how long were you waiting? Are we talking more than 20 seconds to load the front page?

They where taking about 30-60 sec to load and it was only happening in the morning say 9am central then around 1pm central things seem back to normal.

Hi Maria, Well dont worry, cause once your 56K connection has travelled 4000 miles over here to England, and then back again to you, it gets a little slower than when it started off! ;-) So you are doing pretty well really with 38k Is everything back to normal for you now interms of the speed?
