Can anyone explain how the early entry and late park hours work for Disney resort guests - do they have some sort of pass.I assume if you are not a resort guest it would be best to avoid those particular days.

Morning EMH is when the parks open a hour early. You will need a valid park ticket and your room key. Evening EMH are 3 hours (says up to, but I've not seen less) after the park closes. Again you need a valid ticket and your room key. You will need to get a wristband to use the rides, but anyone can shop in the stores or wander around. The bands are usually given out late in the afternoon (around 4pm), just ask a CM and they will point the way.

There are many threads that may answer any other questions that you may have and a quick search will bring them up.

Welcome aboard!!!

Extra Magic Hours can be a win/lose situation. It is awesome they let only WDW resorters come in, but, in every situation we went to a park with EMH, they were really crowded. It to me seemed more crowded than what it was during regular hours. Magic Kingdom was insane that night we went. Anyone else have the same problems?

We ran into that this past August. EPCOT was full, but not unmanagable. DAK was almost empty, but the MK was horrible. It was more crowded than in the day and its was still over 90 degrees. Some lines were an hour or more long. We ended up leaving early. I would rather go back to the E Night system and pay (but only have 5,000 people in the park).

We were there at the MK for EMH in February and it was awful at night. Morning was okay from about 8-11 and then it was wild, too.
