Extra Magic Hours

Went to WDW last week. EMH's are good in the morning. Still, nobody want's to get up. I believe it's the single most important thing you can do for yourself to avoid waiting in long lines for the headliner rides. Evening EMH's are a bust. It's easier to stay up than to get up. NObody leaves the park. They were giving out fastpasses to Winnie the Pooh last Friday for a return time of 1:15am. Unless your in it till the bitter end (say maybe 2:00 am) there is not much benefit to staying late (waiting in line wise). Still, the park is lit very nice at night and is pretty to walk around in.

We had the same problem with the night time EMH in early July. One thing we noticed was the lack of inforcement on the wristbands, especially at Epcot. What's to stop the non-resort guests from hanging around after closing if they don't bother to check for wristbands? We didn't see any cast members stopping people without wristbands from entering the ride queues either. We said something about it to a cast member at TT and she finally starting stopping people with no wristbands. Some of the people she stopped just looked at her like she was crazy and went in anyway. I miss the old E-nights and I would'nt mind paying the small fee that they used to charge if the park management would inforce their policies.

While it is true that the evening EMHs are more crowded than say the morning ones...think of it this way, you're getting extra time in the parks that you wouldn't have gotten before. A year ago you would have been sitting in your hotel room during that time period and now, you get to keep enjoying the magic. I think that sounds like a sweet deal to me.

I'll agree that they need to enforce the wrist band rules more though.

I know when my boyfriend and I went to WDW back in april, I never got up for EMH in the morning. I love to sleep. But yeah I agree EMH at night seem like there are more people then there should be. I saw people w/out wristbands standing around the center courtyard (by the "partners" statue) waiting for pics w/ the charactes. I heard a gentleman tell a CM that it wasn't fair for the people w/o wristsbands to stay in the park, and the CM tells the man "as long as they're not riding rides, I don't see what the problem is". That made me upset.

I mean resort guests are paying the extra hotel money to stay at the disney resorts so why should the non-resort guests get to stay and "hang out" with resort guests? In my opinion the non-resort staying guests should be made to leave the park and come back the next day just like every other non-resort guests. Again, that's just my opinion.

I totally agree with you. If you are not staying on property, then you shouldn't be able to stay in the park during EMH, regardless if you are riding or not. These folks are taking up table space at restaurants, in the lines for meet 'n greet characters and seeing the parades (at least at MK where they sometimes run an extra spectra). If I'm paying the extra money to be on property and this a perk of that, well then it needs to be enforced or what's the point of staying on property.

lets keep in mind that not everyone is blessed enough to be able to afford to stay on disney property. i say if they cant go on the rides, than who cares? let them wander around the parks and just enjoy being there like everyone else is trying to do. i mean at the happiest place on earth waht kind of message does that send if at whatever time the park regularly closes the CMs turned to all those not wearing wristbands and essentially said "get out, youre not special enough". if ure not gonna let everyone stay than they should just go back to the e-ticket night where it was REALLY limited. i can understand about being annoyed if all the tables or taken or something but not angry.
