Extra Magic Hours

Hey there,

I am a tad confused over the Extra Magic Hours as it appears on the Walt Disneyworld.com site. I have seen on this site and others the dated and if they are 3 hours later or 1 hour early, but I am not sure if that is on top of the posted hours on the Disney site or not. For instance, I leave tomorrow and will be going to the parks on 27th-30th for the 4 days and I see that MK has Extra Magic Hours on the 27th and the hours listed are 9am-12midnight. Isn't that their normal hours? So does it open up at 8am or does the 9am include the Extra Magic Hours? Am I making sense? lol, I think I am just overwhelmed with Disney fever and losing my mind!!!

Also, anyone have any quick links to WDW fast pass info? I am just looking to see if I can get multiple tickets like you used to (might still be able to) be able to do at Disneyland. So some areas would allow u to have more then 1 fast pass. Or do I have to use the one I get first before I can use the other. Also, Can someone clarify for sure if I am able to use a fast pass ticket AFTER the time slot expired as long as in the same day? I have heard/read you can and that you can't.

Thanks all!!

:xmas: I know it is not xmas but this face just looks too cute with the hat

Extra Magic Hours are 1 hour before and up to 3 hours after the scheduled times. So EMH at MK on the 27th give you from 8am-3am.

For fastpass, there are ways to get more than one ticket at a time, but it takes clever timing. As far as I know, the CMs have an unwritten rule that FPs for same day but past time are still good.

You may want to try this site for a better view at all the hours:

The Extra Magic Hours are not included in the hours posted. So, for instance, if MK is open 9:00-10:00, and it is noted it has evening EMH, then it will be open until 1 a.m. Likewise, expect the parks listed with morning EMHs to open about one hour earlier than the listed times.

Here is some general information on Disney's Fastpass Service:

There was a thread not too long ago about this topic you've probably read:

Most of the folks seem to agree that they were never turned away when returning with a late Fastpass. I personally would attempt to follow the time hours loosely, just in case, but if necessary, I don't think it will be a problem.

Enjoy your trip!

Awesome news, thanks much! So I won't stress the time slots too much as I was going to, but still want to try to get multiple fastpass if possible since I have a 4 & 1/2 year old daughter going with me who does not like too much to wait in long lines heh. I am getting her PAL Mickey to help on that though.

Thanks again all

I'll be happy to assist...

When you bring up the calendar on disneyworld.com you will see the official operating hours for all guest for each park on that date. Then simply click on the extra magic hour link to see if that date has a Morning Extra Magic Hour or Evening Extra Magic Hours.

In your example, the normal park hours for May 27th is 9am - 12midnight for all guest. When you click on the Extra Magic Hours link, you see:

May 2005
Morning Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom® Park - May 6, 13, 20, 27
Epcot® - May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Disney-MGM Studios - May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park - May 7, 14, 21, 28

Evening Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom® Park - May 4, 11, 18, 25
Epcot® - May 3, 12, 19, 26
Disney-MGM Studios - May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park - May 5, 10, 17, 24, 31

So select Disney Resort guest (with park admission of course) can enjoy an Morning extra Magic Hour on May 27th, entering the park at 8 am (one hour before the offical time) and stay until the park closes at 12 midnight.

Select Disney Resorts include - All 22 Disney owned and operated Resorts and Villas, Shades of Green Resort, The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and The Hilton at Walt Disney World.

For Fastpass...

When you receive your fastpass coupon at the attractions kiosk, it will list the your return time for that attraction and the time you can get your next fastpass. Normally you can get another fastpass at the start of your return window or 2 hours after you recieved your last fastpass coupon, whichever comes first.

Walt Disney World does not offer unlimited Fastpass.

Although you should use the fastpass during the one hour return window stated on your coupon, as there is many magical events that may distract our guest from returning on time, we will allow you to return late to the attraction on the same day.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Hope I'm not creating drift...

I keep seeing references to Evening EMH saying "up to 3 hours." Are they always 3 hours or is it sometimes less?

As of yet the parks have alway been open the 3 full hours after the offical closing time, but some attractions such as Kilimanjaro Safaris may close at dusk, hence not being open the full 3 hours.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:
