Extra Magic Hours?

Never attended morning EMH but with the evening ones, you show your room key to a CM and they place a wristband on you. When the park closes you may ride the open attractions and the CM's will (in the early hours) check to see if you have a wristband.

Morning EMH you just need your room key/park pass to get in.
For EMH (as already mentioned) you need the same and then you get a wristband, this allows you to use the rides/see the shows that are running. It must be worn at all times and be visible to the CMs.

Anyone can stay in the parks during EMH to shop, eat or take in the atmosphere, but you need those bands to ride.

Another thing, if you do not have a park hopper pass then make sure you spend the day in the Park with EMH or you will not be allowed in.

I was looking at the EMH for August 2007. I see that there are some days that do not have a morning or evening EMH. Does Disney normally have days or evenings that a park does not open early or stay late?

Normally, each day has a park with either morning or evening extra magic hours. Tuesdays will usually have morning and evening magic hours parks.

For evening magic hours, don't forget any children in your party room keys because they'll want to see a key for each member of your party.

Not sure where you looked, but I see something every day on this site:

August 2007
Morning Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom Park – August 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 30
Epcot - August 5, 12, 19, 28
Disney-MGM Studios – August 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park – August 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 27
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – August 1-31
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park – August 1-31

Evening Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom Park – August 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26
Epcot - August 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 31
Disney-MGM Studios – August 1, 8, 15, 22, 27
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park – August 6, 13, 20, 29
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – August 4, 11, 18, 25

Not even including the Water parks...

They have Morning EMH every day except the 26th, 29th and 31st and Evening EMH every day except the 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th [all four are Evening EMH at Typhoon], 28th and 30th.

So, in August every day has EMH either morning or evening at one of the four theme parks.

It is usual and normal to have days when there is only a morning EMH park OR an evening EMH park. For example, on the March 2007 schedule it is ONLY on Mondays when you have BOTH morning and evening EMH hours on the same day. On every other day of the week throughout the month, there is only one park per day that has EMH. Sometimes that one EMH per day is a morning, sometimes that one EMH per day is a night.

Edited to add:
Wow, I just looked at the August 2007 schedule. August 1 through August 24, every day has BOTH morning AND evening EMH parks except Saturdays. Wow.

I think it would depend on the time of year and the expected attendance.

I do know that I never again want to do an early in and late day in the same day or one following the other. :snore:

Where do you go to get the wristbands for the evening EMH?

There are usually a few places around the parks so just ask a CM and they will point you on your way. You must have your room key/park pass with you. Remember a hopper is a must if you don't plan on spending the entire day in one park, but you can leave and return later in the day. Also, you do not have to be in the park at closing to take part, you can enter at any time afterwards.
