Extra Magic Hours Questions

I know that E-Ride nights had a limited number of wristbands, now that it is Extra Magic Hours, is there still a limit to how many people, or could every person staying at a resort conceivably be at Extra Magic Hours?

Also, whether or not there is a limit, how early do you need to be at the correct park to get your wristbands?

Thanks!

Hi there  There is no limit to the wristbands, as EMH is open to all resort guests. They start distributing 3 hours early at certain locations in the parks. For example, my family got ours in front of RnRC, and they usually check room keys. Maybe they check theme park tickets, but with us they only checked room keys. Any more questions, just ask and I'll try to answer.

You can check with the Guest Services at whatever park you are at for Extra Magic Hours to find out the specific locations where they are handing out the bracelets.

Unfortunately, it is not limited. Crowds were very heavy when I went to the EMH's in May, and IMO it was more crowded than it was in the daytime. I actually contacted WDW to tell them to bring E-ride Night back.

That bad huh? We are looking forward to using these at the end of the month. Maybe more people are starting to sleep in because you know the average theme park guest can't go from opening to closing when there are 3 hours of EMH. Especially if they have kids. We'll have to try them out this trip and see how crowded they are going to be for us.

During evening EMH there are resort guests AND non resort guests still in the park - theoretically it will just be resort guests with wristbands that are able to do the rides and attractions after EMH has started.

yes...you can walk around all you want but they will not allow you onto a ride without a wristband. they have CM's at the entrance of every ride...almost like the ones to check for FP. they check for wristbands.

and they check room key only. you only need to show 1 per family.

My experience with the evening hours is that after the first hour or so the crowds thin out and it really isn't that bad. That said I have a question. It was my understanding that you had to be in the park before EMH started. For example, if EMH started at 7 and you arrived at 8 they wouldn't let you in. Is this the case or not?

That depends on who is checking, we went to 3 Extra Magic Hour nights 2 weeks ago and on 2 nights they wanted to see each persons room key which is only right.

If not you are going to have people making friends with people in line so they can get wristbands too.

With that said, we thought it was great. A bit more crowded than E-Ride nights but still not bad. This was even during a week when they kept extending the regular park hours due to heavy crowds. Like mentioned above, after the first hour or so things really start to then out and by 1:30 AM the park was nearly empty.

What if you stay in Fort Wilderness and don't have a 'room' key? Maybe show check in receit.....................................

You will still be give 'Resort ID' which is the same thing as your room key.

For the early entry you show your 'Resort ID' before entering the parks, without ID you don't get in.

When we went to the MGM one, they checked every person's resort ID. But I'm assuming different CM's do different things.

This is just the question I was wanting answered, so thanks to everyone.

On E-Ride Nights, Mainstreet and the hub were crowded for about an hour after closing, maybe 2 hours (it was almost empty at the end, though). However, the rest of the park felt like it was all mine within 30 minutes of E-Ride Starting. I'm guessing that that sensation will be gone now. Correct?

Still, I can deal with crowds at EEMH, so long as the wait in lines isn't long. Am I correct in assuming that the wait time is almost minimal? Morning Extra Magic Hours have fewer attractions open, and they are never all that bad. E-Ride Night used to have waits of mere minutes, and sometimes nothing at all. How do these compare to waits at rides (E-Rides and more minor attractions alike) at the new EEMH?

Uhh...:zipit:

Ok, I'll be honest . When we were at MGM, we waited a little under half an hour for GMR, which was a first for us. The crowds seemed bad, but we attributed that to the fact that the open attractions were all in the same area pretty much (except for Star Tours and Muppets). We waited almost an hour for RnRC, so no big change there, except the stand-by line moved a bit faster because there was less fast-pass. However, by 12:30 we practically ran on ToT because there was no one there. We ran back on after because it was still empty. I think we rode in the elevator with the same people  It was funny seeing the mad dash to ToT right before it closed

You shouldn't have too much trouble handling the crowds, so have a great time and don't worry

Thanks for all the info! I can't wait. I am excited about being able to stay late in all the parks, not just MK--so that's a plus over E-Ride Nights!
