Did the old schedule for extra magic hour entry resume after the test of something different in May? If so, is this the way it goes?

Does the Extra Hour only go to Aug 13 ? I am going Aug 23-Sept 2. What are the best days and evenings to visit each park. I saw it somewhere on these posts but I can't find it again.

As far as I know the Extra Magic Hour is all year long...a perk of staying on property. Each park opens one hour early on the designated day. Some people go to other parks to avoid the crowds, but we always take advantage of it...doesn't seem any extra crowded to me.

The current schedule will stay in place for the forceable future.

The only reason it might change is if Disney decides to go back to a version of the EMH/Parks After Dark combination that it tested for a couple of weeks in May. Nothing has been officially announced yet.

When you say "officially" announced, then have you heard that this is a pretty strong possibility? We are going in October, and an early entry and extra hour and night would suit me just fine? Can't get enough of the Disney magic!

I was reading another website yesterday.... and someone had suggested a way of getting around the requirement of staying on-site to use either EMH/Parks After Dark or E-Ride. It wouldn't seem worth it just for the EMH, but might for PAD or an E-Ride Night.

Simply book a partial hook-up campsite at Fort Wilderness. Check-in as you normally would to get your resort pass, and then you can either buy a wristband for E-Ride (in season) or could go to PAD (assuming they do bring a version back at some point).

Obviously it would cost you the money of a campsite you never used, but if there were 4-5 in your group, it would divide out pretty quickly.

Does it seem like this would work?

Does E-night go all year long ? So far I have only seen a schedule until the middle of August. Do they stop when attendance at the parks starts going down ? I am going Aug 23-Sept 2.

Usually yes, they stop doing e-rides when the crowds start dying down and when the parks start closing earlier. I would imagine that whatever the last listed date is on the list of e-rides nights would be it for this year.

:sohappy: I went to E ride night in September 1998. It was so awesome. There was hardly anybody there in the day and the night was very cool. My friend and I got to stay on Splash Mountain so long without anyone else getting on that we switched seating arrangements everytime we came back around since we had the whole boat to ourselves. It did not hurt being two females with a male cast member laughing and talking with us everytime we finished the ride. Our clothes were soaked by the time we had enough.
