Extended refurbishments

Can anyone tell me how far out in advance they announce closures and refurbs?

Depends. They always try to give as much advanced notice as possible, but stuff happens. Usually about 1-4 months out from the refurb, depending, but sometimes an attraction needs a refurb suddenly or they decide to extend it.

I'm happy they are fixing the rides that need it, but it still stinks when you were expecting the ride to be opened by the time you get there to see it being extended and opening after you leave. Guess it will just give me another reason why I need to return to the World . As for Test Track i'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't like the ride and wouldn't mind it being shut down for refurb, but my husband and kids do

You are not the only one who does not like TT, especially after the big refurb.

Astro Orbiter I know was badly damaged in the thunderstorm last year. It may have had more damage than they realized. A crane is on site and the middle of the spinner is back up. But no cars, just the center spinner. Mickey's Philhar Magic also desperately needs the refurb. I'm glad they are extending it given the shape that it's in. Yes it's disappointing, but it's better to give them the time they need than continue to let it get into a certain state.

Ok really??? A FP for TTA

The line is one of the fastest moving in the MK and u do not want to waste a FP on it! I love the ride just as much as the next Disney fan, but save it for something worth it that u know will actually have a long line...

THAT would be funny. I just meant that it was listed as not a choice when I was picking other ones. Clearly the stress of organizing this vacation is taking it's toll and I'm adding words in error.
Would like to take a ride on it though and experience all this relaxing down time people talk about.
