Extended Evening Hours Really a Hit Now Only a Deluxe Perk

The EME Hours, now retitled/rebranded as Extended Evening Hours was the perk we were hoping to would return across all resorts, to include the Mods and Values.

Having attending the Extended Hours at Epcot, and now the Studios, we're having second thoughts. Back when the EME included all resorts, the Perk had become almost useless as the Parks, no matter which one was participating was so packed it was barely worth attending.

Thursday night at the Studios was REALLY nice, even just after Park Closing. Epcot's Extended Hours have been nice as well! It seems the "Deluxe Only" perk really works and is probably going to stay....

Question - in the past we have been programmed to avoid the park which had EMH as it would be a lot busier than the other parks. Is this still the case?

In my experience, you are able to experience probably twice as many attractions in the extended evening hours now as you are during normal operations. Would not say that was the case under evening EMH.

Studios

We didn't even ARRIVE at the Studios until just before Park close, and it was packed then. Part of the reason was the the Wonderful World of Animation Show had just ended and of those who stayed for the show, a fair amount of the viewers hit one last ride! I couldn't tell you how the crowds were during the day (I assume that was the question).

Epcot

It didn't seem nearly as busy on the Extended Evening Day as it did in the past for the EMEs....we were there late afternoon and it was moderate crowds....definitely not packed

Are you asking about how it affects the parks through the day?

It has a negligible effect on the day time crowds. It might start getting more crowded in the evenings as eligible guests start hopping over to that park, but during the day it’s nothing like the old EMH where those without hopper flocked to that park from first thing.

Well said

The late hopping was apparent at the Studios last Thursday as it was a bit crowded til 10:30ish, then dropped to everything walk on (sans Slinky) Even Slinky was posted 20 mins

The only complaint I’ve heard is the spacing and distance in EPCOT makes utilizing that benefit in the right window more difficult.

I think the parties affect daytime attendance more so than the EEH.

How does the reduced crowds compare to the half hour early admission all resort guests in the morning? My family usually has little issue knocking out several attractions before the park opens. I'm curious how the two compare for some who has done both.

FAE and Test Track are at least on the same side. Once Cosmic Rewind becomes totally available, I could see a standard plan of :

Frozen Ever After
(Mexico if desired)
Test Track
Mission:Space (if it’s your thing)
Cosmic Rewind
Spaceship Earth

Ratatouille is the biggest geographical outlier among the higher demand rides

Morning has a small window as far as the minimal crowds, but the Evening really clears in the last hour of the window

Morning

Epcot
- they might let you in BEFORE 8:30, but there is still an Inner Rope Drop that keeps you from entering any ride ….
- you’re only going to get 1 e-ticket as the International Gateway kills Ratatule, and most all others hit Test Track or Frozen. Even if you make it to another primo ride before the Park opens the 2nd ride’s line in north of 30 mins

Studios
- If one wants to maximise the xMorning one could ride RnR and ToT multiple times….
- Slinky, RoR and RR might be able to hit only one before regular hours

Evening

- Both Parks clear out substantially for the last hour; especially Epcot. At both the Studios and Epcot, we ride the “lesser” rides fir the first hour, or until the posted wait times (posted times are taken with a grain of salt) have reduced….

Hit the e-tickets late…

Magic Kingdom
- Haven’t used either experience in quite some time….evening is on hiatus until after the hard tickets are done for the season

Do want to say again the Extended Evening are far superior to their predecessor Extra Magic Evenings

I think there are things that you can do that are not rides during EMH; only reason I said it.

I booked 2 nights at the Swan to use this benefit to cross Tron off my list and keep me from having to be in MK more than I have to.

I get that…

The whole “experience” thing was hatched deliberately by marketing to disassociate price/volume of what you get for what you pay…

…and it’s worked far too well for years.

Yew use the Swan as well

2 nights capture the perk for both MK and Epcot…assume MK Extended will return to its Monday slot after the New Year?

Tron worth riding again? Decent experience, but Guardians is far superior

If I never ride Tron again, that’s ok. MK is my least favorite park across the 3 major operators in Orlando. Company insists on making egress there a total pain, food is abysmal, and I don’t have to tell people here that Tron is the first new major E ticket ride added to the park since 1992, which is a complete embarrassment. When I’m there visiting CM friends I’m likely at the other 3 parks or off property entirely.
