Express Pass

We're going to Orlando in October and plan on visiting universal and IoA on a couple of days. Not sure what the wait times are like at this time of year, would you recommend buying the express passes or are the lines not too bad.

No, I think you will be alright without the Express Pass.

I also do not believe that you would need Express Pass. However, you may want to plan your visit to avoid (or attend) Halloween Horror Nights. This is a separate ticketed event, but I would expect the daytime crowds to be higher on the days where a HHN is held that night.
