Just got back.. Went to EE on tuesday 2/21, and at 11:00am when we got there, ride closed down due to lighting effect problems.. Within an hour they had it back up and running again.. Rode it 3 times in an hour using single rider entrance.. Just goto the fastpass return line and ask for single rider pass.. No more than 15 minute wait.. Ride is awesome!!! Excellent theming!! When using Fastpass or standby entrance, you can request the first row, you just may have to wait an extra minute or so.. Single riders don't have a choice, although I was able to ride in first row once. Being towards the front is definately a smoother ride. When I rode towards the back, I seemed to get banged around a bit more.. Also, you don't have the headrest of car infront of you blocking view.. Have fun!!

The rumor was wrong.
Exactly.

With the billboards alongside the road, the HCOE signs throughout the park, and being on the Resort TV "Top 7"... I think that pretty much solidifies this thing being (and staying) open.

On top of that, have you been to the official WDW website recently? It isn't even indicated as "coming soon" anymore, simply listed as one of the park's current attractions.

Visit the site for yourself and see. While it still states that it opens (officially) in April: It says you can get a "sneak peak" right now during regular park hours.

I rode it twice yesterday, making my EE count: 30 rides. It is addicting. :D

So I guess that also means no plans to shut it down and make some tweaks then? Basically we're stuck with no snow effects and that ridiculously silly cartoon that is supposed to pass for a "shadow of the Yeti tearing up the tracks"?

Ridiculously silly cartoon? Wow your standards must be really high. I mean really, that part get's a pretty good reaction from riders, sorry they can't all be as as you...

Since you're the only person I've seen that thinks the projection is a "ridiculously silly cartoon that is supposed to pass for a "shadow of the Yeti tearing up the tracks"?", I highly doubt that they'll be tweaking that! I happen to be amongst those that think it fits perfectly.

They have been shutting it down periodically for tweaking. They just haven't closed for full days. There were a few days it closed at 2PM for some work. I suspect that some work is also performed when the park is closed.

Is there anything abut EE you don't try to turn into a negative?

That, and they had some press event or something that morning, and had to delay it because of the heavy fog in the morning.

I might suggest perusing these boards more carefully, then, because I'm far from being "the only person" who feels this way about the projection. Additionally, it's been reported by other members on these boards, many of whom are kind of looked at as being "in the know" that they were, indeed planning to shut it down to add some more effects.

If the idea of the projection is to make guests feel as though they've suddenly transitioned from the real world into a "cartoon world" for those few seconds, and then back to reality, then yes it does fit perfectly. But somehow I doubt that was the intent.

Count me in the group that thinks the projection is great as it is. If you haven't seen it in person, then there is no way a small online video can do it justice. In person, I didn't think it was "cartoony" at all.

How about the complaints that you can see the steel beams when you're going backwards inside the show building? I'd heard that people were hoping they'd fix that because it ruins the illusion.

Out of curiosity, what's different about it in person that makes it more acceptable?
