Expedition Everest update

AH-HA!
Let's see...who was it that said it was going to be by the water?
Oh Yeah!
Me!:D

As I said on the "Forbidden Mountain Construction" thread, I had always been told that was the location, and I was extremely surprised by all the talk about the land behind Kali. That cleared land has been there for years, nothing to do with Everest.

The size is about right, too. 1-2 acres for the mountain, several more for the surrounding areas, queue, track, etc.

.......can we ride it yet?;)

haha...wonder what mkt saw then...maybe Disney is building two mountains?!?! But, one acre in size for the mountain...hmmm...who originally argued that size? (and was laughed at, I might add)

high-speed mine train with forward and backward segments (although the train will never double back on itself). 55 mph. Maximum height of track...probably about 150 feet--it'll be Disney World's first true monster coaster (errr...is "mega coaster" the term?).

Gotta love that new info - keeps me wanting more. But, patience is a virtue, guess I'll keep playing the waiting game...

Actually, I believe the proper definition for a "mega coaster" is a coaster with a first hill of 200 feet or greater, so this will not be a mega coaster.

Yes, I'm sounding like a coaster geek.

I posted that originally also, but a Mega is over 100 ft. A Hyper is over 200.

And for the record...

a Giga is over 300.

No clue on Top Thrill Dragster reaching over 400 feet.

Ah - I was off. I thought a mega coaster was 200, and 300 was either "hyper" or "giga". I have no clue.

Top Thrill Dragster at 400+ feet - tera-coaster?

Excuse my ignorance please... I always got lost in AK, but I can see the Tree of Life in the Oasis and all, but where is the entrance to the park in this picture? I don´t see the parking lot and can´t figure it out! :brick: Thanks and sorry! :o

In the Yellow Circle. you can see where the picture stops just as you are getting to the bus stops.

Where's MKT when we need him?! Maybe he just had his directions off, but I am certain he wasn't lying when he said the area was cleared and footers were down...
