Expedition Everest testing video

Basicly what CEO said.

You go through the switch track forward, stop, track switches behind you, than you go backwards through the same switch track but into the next portion. It isn't an actual turntable that turns you around. Hopefully I didn't confuse you.

Check out the old EE photes from last year on Orlandorocks.com. Check under AK than everest photos. You can see some of the track photos before they covered the mountain and you will get a general idea of what is going on.

Ah I see now. I was under the impression that the drop would be done with the train backwards. If I am not mistaken, the switch from forwards to backwards should be like the one on Revenge of the Mummy (where you hit the first dead end, the scabs come out of the wall, and your train moves backwards).

I do understand better now. Thanks for clarifying that CEO and Lynx :)

Does anyone know if they will be doing regular testing cuz I leave in 11 days and I want to see them test it.

It's very early in the testing phase, so there will be no set pattern. If you want to see it, I suggest hanging out infront of EVerest as much as you can. Just remember there are no guarantees you will see it though.

The switch track on EE is a little different than the switch on the mummy in the scarb room. On the mummy the track is slides left and right like with the duel stations. The switch on EE rotates 180 degrees.

Hi,

I took the video two weeks ago. It was around 8pm - so it was on a night where they had the "Extra Magic Hours". I saw two cast members on the bridge - looking towards the Everest Mountain - one had a walkietalkie with him - they had nametags on- but no costumes - so I think they where managment guys or Imagineers. I guessed there's something going on there. They took two test-runs on that evening.

The PML Pass is the corrent pass for all content on WDWMAGIC. I think you may have missed this announcement back in 2004, and your pass is still on the old system. Have a look at http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=44217 Thanks :)

Ok, so it goes through a pretty major helix - it sounds like everyone agrees. Now, this is a horizontal helix, right? No upside-down on this ride, I hope - or else I can't get on  From everything I've read on here it seems as if this one is safe for even those of us with Motion Sickness!!!

The ride will not go upside down.

Wow, nice video. I didn't think they'd already have testign so far away from opening...

What I don't understand is how most of you guys manage to go to Disney World 100 times a year, but can't manage $3.50 to watch this and the hundreds of other great videos and pictures on the site.

In my case I have plenty of money, the 3.50 is not the problem. However I have no credit card and thus no way to pay. And that really sucks when something like this comes about.
