Expedition Everest Soft Opening

I'm off to WDW, on 12th February to the 18th, and really would like to ride EE during my trip. So, i've been searching the internet for any information about the soft opening, but everyone's really excited and posting information about the vacation club members and the annual passholder members previews, and cant find much info on soft opening. So, I would greatly appreciate, if you can post any information you know about the soft openings.

From, the limited amount of info, I've found, all signs point to soft opening occuring in February, which is great news for me. But, having never been to a soft opening before, I'm not sure how they work. Is the attraction open all day for a number of days, or open a few hours every day? Could I ask the people at the WDW resort, I'm stayin at, if the soft opening is happening that day? Thanks for the help. IMAGINEER JUMBA

A soft opening, as I understand it, just means that it will be open as normal but the press won't be there until the grand opening. In other words, as far as day guests are concerned, soft opening = opening.

It sounds like EE will soft open in Feb. and since you'll be there in mid-Feb. I think your chances are very good! :) WOO-HOO! I can't wait to see the Yeti!

I'm leaving the day before you get there.

My understanding [I haven't experienced soft openings either] is that soft openings are quite random. You could walk by and ask a CM and they'll say nothing is planned for today and then an hour later they are letting people on. I think they just do it and if you're there when they do, you get to go.

It's been said in a couple of places here that they don't put up signs and you can't get advance notice.

I'm hoping to post daily reports while I'm there. If I experience a soft opening, I'll let everyone know what was involved. I hope...

great! i fought i was the only one in this position. See, i'm sure that someone, like a cast member, on a disney site will find out, but I will be in WDW, so I won't be able to find out, as there are internet access points at the polynesian unless, i bring a laptop. Hopefully, some cast members will know a few days in advance before i go.
