Here is a place to discuss any rumors or discussion of expansion of Disneys Hollywood Studios beyond montropolis. Last we heard, zootopia and the simpsons were in the running.

The Muppet Theater should get gutted and replaced with something good, like a 4D Roger Rabbit film experience. Roger Rabbit has a tie to Old Hollywood (the supposed theme of DHS) that the puppets don't, and deserves a bigger presence in DHS beyond the billboard and broken window. But unless better people start running things at Disney, and unless Spielberg gets the stick out of his butt over the rights to the Rabbit (he'd apparently rather let the rabbit die than do anything with him), that probably won't happen. Pity.

I want Simpsons in Hollywood Studios so it feels at least a little different. Right now the park is feeling more and more like a dumping ground for things Disney doesn't have space to put into Magic Kingdom.

I'd like to see Wreck it Ralph go in this area. To make it different they could possibly make a deal to bring in some of the classic Arcade and Video Game characters in the film like Pac Man, Q-Bert and Sonic the Hedgehog. It would be like the old days when they brought in Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Goosebumps and the Muppets.

Not sure if anyone follows Gary Wolf, the creator of Roger, on social media but he’s been hinting that something is happening with the rights to Roger. Will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere.

Just seeing his cameo in that new Chip 'n' Dale movie made my heart happy.

I was surprised at how many cameos were in the Chip and Dale movie. Characters you wouldn't think in a million years that could be in a Disney movie. I honestly don't know how they did it.

Dobby the House elf from Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Lego, Cartoon Network, Hanna-Barbera, Sonic the Hedgehog, Nickelodeon, South Park, MTV, Universal, Dreamworks, PBS, Sesame Street, etc.

There are few IPs that I would be horrified at them adding to Disney World than The Simpsons.

Especially considering how some of them were used in the movie...

"Hey, can we use Patrick Star in our Roger Rabbit wannabe?"
"Sure. Say, how's he going to be portrayed?"
"Oh, he gets kidnapped by the mafia because he owed them money and they mutate him and force him to star in bootlegs."
"...what?"
"No backsies!"

How much could realistically go in an AC expansion? I like doing my own armchair imagineering but I'm not sure what is realistically able to be demolished and used for space. Could it fit a full "land" with at least two attractions?

I love the idea some others have thought of a superhero square. Theme the walking area to a Central Park. It is grassy and green with trees and city style food stands. You are surrounded on three sides by City facades, one is of SanFransokyo and houses a Big Hero 6 attraction (likely something smaller and family friendly). Another is Metroville and houses an Incredibles dark ride of some sort. The other is New York with the Sanctum Sanctorum and a Dr. Strange "StoryCoaster" through the different dimensions.

More likely it is something way simpler and there is little chance there is room for all of that back there. I love that idea though.

I have no idea if all of the backstage stuff can be moved... but assuming it can you can almost squeeze in another Galaxy's Edge into the land: while keeping OMD, Launch Bay, and Disney Jr.

So here’s my question, since Zootopia is the big rumor for this area. Is Zootopia a big enough IP for them to have as a show in AK and a whole land in DHS? I love the movie but I feel like it’s not as popular as other IPs

I’d be a bit disappointed in Zootopia not so much for the IP but because 1) it’s really just one attractions, and 2) it’s another trackless dark ride which would make 3 of those in the park. I’m not opposed to using the same ride system, but I feel trackless is bit overdone at this point. It’d still be better than nothing though.

And you’d have to assume Launch Bay would go to. Making a little more space.

I just hope they use that space well and have a multiple attractions land.

Also found this post. It looks like almost all of it could be moved to the other side of the street with a walkway. Except probably the water chiller plant (i mean they could move it, but that seems like by far the most difficult/expensive)

1, 2. Groundskeeping and holiday decorations (Lots of other storage is scattered about backstage for this)
3. Rock 'n' roller coaster
4. Show keeping / Show ready Custodial offices and materials storage. There's also a break room.
5, 6. Water chiller plant (this is how the buildings in the park are air conditioned)
7, Entertainment management / DHS Entertainment Show Support.
8. Training offices. Basically every cast member in the park ends up in this building at some point.
9. More GSM offices, costumed character offices, Park upper management. Imagineering supposedly has some offices in there too but I haven't personally seen that.
10. Huge parking garage. This fills up regularly
11. the new BBQ place for TSL (this area was formerly training offices)
12. Imagineering (trailers)
13. Take 5 (the main cast cafeteria) (good food, lousy prices)
14. Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy

If anyone knows one of these to be inaccurate, let me know and I'll edit.

So dump in an IP that has nothing to do with Disney Films at all?
I can't think of a worse idea....especially when Universal already did Simpsons for decades....
There are many attractions that have IP that has nothing to do with disney films...See Figment...Im glad he was dumped in EPCOT
