Trip Report Everything is Satisfactual - 4 Brits do Disney!

Welcome, ladies and gents, to my brand spanking new (and first ever) trip report!

I have been so excited to write this after reading some awesome ones on here :)

We got back from Disney World a few days ago so, even though I am still recovering from jet lag, I have a major case of the Disney Blues!:cry::cry: I’m hoping that this report will relieve some of those.

Let’s begin:

Flight Day - Intro.jpg

Who: Hello, this is us. :) There were 4 of us on the trip - 2 couples and 2 sisters :) We are all in our twenties.

From left to right:

Kit, my boyfriend. He’s Canadian but has lived in the UK for most of his life.
Me, Stevie! I have lived in London my whole life, and my family are also from here.
My younger sister, Lisa. Isn’t she a beaut?
Lisa’s boyfriend, Wing. He’s Chinese but has also lived in London since forever :)

Lisa & I have been to the World twice - once when I was 9 and again when I was 16. Kit and Wing had never been to WDW before (this is actually a lie - Kit went when he was 3/4, but doesn’t remember a thing about it!).

This trip actually came about because my family were reminiscing about our previous trips and remembering what a great time we had. I then had a lightbulb moment - “hey, why don’t we go again?!” - and lo and behold, this trip was booked! Luckily we had some savings, because we booked it pretty last minute (booked in April and flew in July) and it took every last penny I owned :banghead: (but still so worth it!). :D

When: We went from July 29th - August 8th. 10 nights. Unfortunately, our jobs prevented us from going at a quieter time!

Where: We stayed at All Star Movies and all shared one room. Yep - we were on a bit of a budget. Eeek! Find out how that went down a bit later

All in all, we had a brilliant trip. It wasn’t perfect by any means, and I’ll try and write as honestly as I can. This trip report will include the good, the bad and the ugly. Since we hadn’t been to WDW for 10 years, in many ways it felt like the first time, and we had so many fresh and new experiences!

I also took a million pictures, so I’ll be posting lots of them here. They will be a mixture of iPhone, DSLR and Photopass shots!

Here’s hoping you’ll join us for the ride! ;)

A few more pictures from France:

We watched the French movie, which was lovely, but just a bit too long - I saw Kit’s eyelids drooping near the end. :p

We also saw Belle, but she had a huge line waiting to meet her and we were getting quite conscious of the time … so many more countries to see! Eeeek!

I managed to grab a quick snap of her though!

EP106.jpg

We then walked over to Morocco.

Kit and I went to Morocco in 2014 after winning a competition, and had an amazing time. It was lovely to be ‘back’, drinking in the sights and smells again! The various spices smelled wonderful. :)

Of course, I took lots of photos. Unfortunately, my photo editor keeps crashing on my laptop so I couldn't make the colours pop as much as I wanted to!

Aladdin & Jasmine were also out, but for some reason I didn’t snap a pic of them. :bored:

Beautiful Epcot:

We then headed to Italy, but for some reason I can’t remember much about it! I think we spent less and less time in each country as the day wore on and we became more conscious of the time.

I only took a few pictures. Definitely need to spend more time exploring Italy on my next visit!

We then went to Germany for a snack and a refuel. I got a huge pretzel and Kit got a beer. There was a bit of trouble with Kit showing his ID (he is 28 but doesn’t look it, lol). They wouldn’t accept his UK driving license (which is what we all use back home) and they only way he managed to get his drink was by (luckily) finding a photocopy of his passport on his email account!

Some places on property would card Izma and require 2 forms of ID. When anybody asks me I tell them to always have a back up ID just in case.:hilarious:

I’ve just realised that I must have written my TR notes down wrong, because the countries are now in the wrong order! Haha. Actually, before Italy and Germany, we went to Japan!! :hilarious:

We spent absolutely ages in the shop because Kit is a lover of all things Japanese. There were so many beautiful things to photograph that I went a bit camera happy while he browsed! :cat: We bought some chopsticks, which we actually used as soon as we got home by taking them with us to a sushi restuarant! We did raise some eyebrows by bringing our own chopsticks, but they were pretty and we wanted to make sure that we used them! :hilarious:

Cool story: Kit's best friend is an actor who plays the Black Power Ranger in the new series! :D He was so happy to find 'James' on the shelves in the shop! :) :)

Hey James!

We watched this film together about a year before heading to WDW :D

Kit bought this for his mum :) I love how his t-shirt really matches the theming of the shop!

Your Polka Dot dress is adorable!! Especially with the hat! I wish they could link your age to your Magic Band (maybe even with your picture) so that you don't have to carry ID around!

Thank you! This was one of my favourite dresses to wear! :) And that is SUCH a good idea about the ID and magic bands!!

So glad you are back and updating your TR. Love your meet and greet with Mary Poppins! How adorable.

Aww, thank you! :) So glad that people are still following along! I will write some more today :D And meeting Mary Poppins was just brilliant :inlove: :inlove:

After Japan, we met back up with Lisa and Wing! Lisa was feeling much better after her rest back in the room - I think she had a bath and a little sleep.

They had some photopass shots taken while they were waiting for us:

Our first stop after meeting back up was Captain EO!

I know that a lot of people dislike this attraction, but we still love it! :inlove:

Anything featuring vintage Michael Jackson gets a massive thumbs up from me! :D :D

We left the theatre singing and dancing, and had to get some photos with the main man himself!

Love you, MJ :inlove:

EP176.jpg

We then went on 'The Seas' using our FPs from earlier. It was our first time on that ride, and it was super cute!!!

And then, it was time for dins!! :D

We had an ADR at the Rose & Crown, and I was SO excited!! :D The idea of eating food in a classic British pub whilst in the middle of the blazing Florida heat (and DISNEYWORLD) just blew my mind :hilarious:

Whilst waiting for our buzzer to go off, we had a wander around the UK and listened to the British rock band, which was out again. They were awesome, and we had a nice little dance! All too soon, it was time to go in and eat!

Our waitress was from Newcastle, UK, and she was lovely! I was shocked, though, when I ordered tea and they STILL brought it out with no milk! In the UK! :bored: What is this?!

Luckily, a quick request to my waitress and all was sorted out. Phew!

EP182.jpg

I had my tea. And milk. All was right with the world!

EP183.jpg

Three of us ordered the cottage pie, which was spot on! :) Unfortunately, none of us could manage dessert!! :arghh: Too full!

EP184.jpg

After dinner, we took Lisa back to the World Showcase and showed them Japan (we knew they would love it) and China briefly. We still had more countries to explore, but we knew we would be back! We had originally only planned one EPCOT day into our schedule, but it just wasn't enough!! In fact, our plans changed a lot when we actually got here!

Before long it was getting really dark and our wonderful day at EPCOT was coming to a close! Nooooo :( I wish I could stop time at Disney!

Luckily, there was still one more thing to see - Illuminations! WOW, it was magical! We were all completely in awe. My pictures do not do justice. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

After Illuminations, which made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, we reluctantly joined the masses and headed back to the hotel.

We stopped for a couple more photopass shots on the way, and my fringe/bangs decided to act a bit crazy!

EP200.jpeg

At the bus stop, we waited ages for an All Star Movies bus, and as we did so THREE All Star Music ones went past! We decided to jump onto the third Music bus, and got seats for the way home! We had to walk an extra 5 or so minutes to get to our hotel, but it was definitely worth it! :D

Again, we all fell straight to sleep as soon as we got back!

EP201.jpg

Thank you, Epcot, for a truly magical day! :inlove:

Coming up: Day 7! Could we handle 3 parks in one day?! ;)

Don't sell yourself short I love your Illuminations pictures. Quite striking! Thank you for sharing

Thank you @figmentfan423 :)

I also really liked the Illuminations pictures.

Thanks for sharing the pictures from the Mitsukoshi Dept. Store. Do you know that's my absolute favorite store in all of WDW?!

You're welcome! I'm glad I know what it's called now! I think it might be my favourite too! :D

Day 7: 3 Parks in One Day

Day 7 was a pretty crazy day! We had originally planned to have 2 full days at Universal, and only one day at AK and Epcot. However, because we bought the Express Pass at Universal on our first day, we had managed to go on most of the rides that we wanted to (apart from those at Harry Potter world), we didn’t feel like we needed another full day there.

And, we definitely felt that we had more to explore at both AK and Epcot … I don’t know how people call AK a half-day park?! o_O :)

Therefore … *drumroll* …. we decided to do all three parks in one day! :D

We would start off at Universal, seeing Harry Potter World, and then get a cab to AK to continue exploring and finish off the evening at Epcot. I wasn’t sure how this was all going to work out but we decided to give it a go anyway! :joyfull:

We woke up early, grabbed another quick breakfast at the Food Court, and jumped in an Uber with a driver called Jeff.

HP1.jpg

HP2.jpg

He was really nice, but not as knowledgable as our previous driver, and he actually ended up getting a lost a few times trying to find Universal!

We arrived at about 9.15 and went straight to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, as we knew that queue would be the biggest!

(As a little side note, I am a HUGEEEEE Harry Potter fan and finally coming to visit the Wizarding World was like a dream … I was beyond excited! :) :) :))

HP3.jpg

HP4.jpg

HP and the Forbidden Journey was AMAZING. We only ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for it, which was remarkable given that we were there in the height of crowd season (it really pays to wake up early!) and we would have happily waited longer. The queue was awesome!! :D

Everyone loved this ride, and we could have happily gone on it again, but we had so little time and so much to see! GO GO GO!

We walked around Hogsmeade for a little while, which was just wonderful. The attention to detail in the Wizarding World is incredible … I literally felt like I had stepped into the pages of my favourite book! :inlove:
