Every park is an all day park.

I have never understood it when people say DAK or DHS is a half day park. We can make a full day out of any park, and multi days out of most. When someone says a park is half a day are they only hitting major rides? For us there is so much more to do than rides. Now, we do take midday breaks.

For a newbie, every park is an all-day park, at least!

I frequently skipped DS. If I went at all, it was usually half a day. I think the DS sucks. It is easily the worst park in Orlando and has the dumbest excuse for a night show that could exist.

But when talking to newbies, I would never advise them to skip that park or only schedule half a day there. They might like it and there is enough to fill a day, even if I'd rather step on a tack than spend an entire day there.

I would call them half day parks but we go often and do not do everything, every time.... For a first timer I would say you would need a week to see all 4 parks. :)

At least once a year but not sure how that is relevant.

It's relevant because it is an issue of repeatability. You can only watch the same show or do the same walking trails (for AK) so many times before they become a more passive experience. Once a year - you are probably good - especially if you are pretty new to vacationing at WDW.

Yes I do think it means hitting the big rides or their favorite attractions and heading out. I've heard people say Epcot is a half day park with baffles me as my family can spend a whole day in World Showcase alone. Last trip we skipped DHS altogether as we didn't think there was enough for my 2 year old to do there.

(Except maybe the DS ;) )

Comments like that is the reason I hope Disney is watching these threads... It is such a shame you could not find enough for your 2 year old to do... I agree with you.. Need more for the little ones! :)

I consider DHS to be a big kids park nothing wrong with that and since my 2 year old is free I understand not having much for a toddler.

We actually choose to skip DHS in favor of a day at Islands of Adventure. We wanted to see Harry Potter! Not much for my 2 year old daughter to do at IOA either. This coming trip my daughter will be 4 and we will be going to DHS. She is more familiar with Disney movies and TV shows so there is more she is familiar with and if we are lucky she will hit 40 inches and she can go on Star Tours;)

I would take a toddler to Uni every time. I could not resist getting pics in Dr. Seussland!

But I'm a big fan of Dr. Seuss and read his books to all the toddlers I'm lucky enough to spend a day with. :)

I think all the parks have quite enough stuff for little ones. We don't need more toddlerization. We need more fun.

We really enjoyed Seuss Landing! Hopefully the rumors of it expanding come true.

Sorry, MGM and Animal Kingdom are not all-day parks. I can't do AK more than a few hours (and that's pushing it) and would never attempt another full day at MGM.

For me, WDW will always be Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center, plus 4-5 hours at MGM.

Not all cases. I know people what can't go on Star Tours: The Adventures, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and Tower of terror due to medical reasons.

I don't do full at DHS, but I stuff outside of the major rides. I went to WDW 13 times since I was a teen and that means expecting me to do a full day at DHS is out of the question. I first went there in 1991 when Disney didn't have the attractions as do know at that park. What I do is try most the attractions out in Beauty and the Beast live on stage.

I go to DHS for looking at Shops, do some attractions and eat at Starring Rolls for a snack. I don't do Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, backlot Tour, American Idol, the 2 day stunt shows, Voyage of the Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast live on stage.

I am able to stay at DHS up to 1:30 during the day. AK is a park that I can pull a full day out by the fact I am there when the park opens and go the park in the morning and be done anywhere from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and visit Animal Kingdom ledge.

DHS is definitely a half day park unless you're on two hour long lines for Toy Story Mania and the coasters or keep missing show times and have to wait for the next one. Personally, I think its a mid/late afternoon until evening park that way you can see Fantasmic without having to go back another day.

Yeah. Animal Kingdom shuts down at 5pm. They extend it to 7pm during Daylight Saving Time, but in all honesty there's really nothing to do there past 4-ish, unless you just *have* to take one last trip through Everest.

Otherwise you're just walking through the woods trying to see animals that may or may not be there.

Let's face it, you're probably better off just making the drive to Busch Gardens in Tampa.
