Everest Ride-Through

Guys,

As I'm visiting WDW in October I'm exercising every ounce of restraint I can muster not to watch the Yeti exclusive ride-thoughs currently available on the net but my friend, who is suffering from severe Disney withdrawls, really wants to see it!

Does anyone know where I/he can find a version accesible for Windows? Not neccasarily to download...just to watch! Preferably with the Yeti present!!

Must...fight...the...temptation!!!

If you give into temptation and watch the video, don't worry.

I watched the videos and they do not ruin the attraction at all. I actually think the videos make the ride look bad. There is so much more going on than what one person can show in a video.

Go ahead, watch the video and you will still be blown away by the awesomeness that is EE.

Does that comment mean that you have been on the ride and know that its better than the video. Because I agree with you. I think the video makes the ride look boring and the animatronic is visable for like 2 seconds. It almost makes me not even care to ride it as much as I wanted to before.

I don't see how anyone can even compare a video to the real thing. The video doesn't let you actually explore Serka Zong. The video doesn't let you actually see what 120 feet above Walt Disney World looks and feels like. The video does not let you feel the forces and sensations you feel on the ride (mainly the backwards portion and the outdoor drop/helix.) The video doesn't give you a proper sense of actual size of things while on the ride (such as some of the effects and the yeti himself.) Speaking of which..... I have not seen ONE video with a clear view of the yeti. Besides the Jim Hill photos, nothing you have seen on the net has even remotely shown what it is like to see it in person.

To form an opinon on a ride that have you yet to ride makes no sense to me. (I'm not just singling you out here, many other people on these boards have done the same...)

I'm an extremely critical Disney fan.

I'm extremely pleased with Expedition Everest.

Enough said.

I totally agree with you and I dont know anything about it. I was just wondering if the first guys comment was from the experience of actually riding the ride. I havent read that many actual ride reviews so I dont know. From the video though you can get the basic tracking of the ride etc. It just wasnt what I expected. I am sure when I ride it I will be blown away. I think if the ride is as good as you say I will like it even more since I dont have as high of expectation now that I saw the video (which as you said did not do it justice). You passion about it makes me want to ride it again :)

Glad you understand. I was actually in the same boat you are- I watched the "leaked video" before previews, and after watching the video I felt it was "meh, okay..."

Then came Cast Member previews, and after riding it..... I rode it 8 more times that same day. Need I say more..?

It's a fun, fun ride and you'll love it.

Yes, I did ride EE. Was at the AP preview on the 26th and took advantage of the single rider line. I was there between 10:00 and 2:00 and there was no wait at all. I did "stand by" once to see the village and museum, and the rest single rider. Probably rode about 20 times.

It is amazing how much you can see from the top of the mountain. If you look behind the train, you will see the MK area, and how vast WDW is. Unfortunately, I didn't ride in the front seat, but sat pretty much everywhere else. I thought the back seat gave the best ride.

Don't want to spoil the ride with to many details but, I think it is amazing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I've watched the video and can hardly wait till October to get to ride it. My 13 year old son, however, is not so sure. He does not like to ride attractions with big drops (no Splash or Space Mountain, ToT, etc) but LOVES to ride BTMR, M:S, TT, etc. I had him watch the video and told him that there did not appear to be any big drops, but in the "dark" section of the videos we could not be sure. He wants me to ride it first then ride it again with him if it's OK. Am I right in that there are big lifts but not so big drops?

While some of the drops may be bigger (there's an 80-footer) or look more intense than some other rides, none of the drops feel nearly as big as say, Splash Mountain for example.

The ride as a whole is definitely more intense than Space Mounatin though --So maybe it's best you ride first if he's that worried, but honestly I'm sure he'll love it and be busy having too much fun to even notice the drops.
