Everest Ride Testing Update

Ride testing has been taking place for several months now on the tracks of Expedition Everest. This testing typically has taken place later in the day into the evening. Now, however, you will begin to see trains moving on the tracks more frequently and earlier in the day when more of our Guests are in the park.

This is very exciting progress, however, it is important to remember that there is still a lot of construction, show installation, programming and other preparation that must be completed before the ride will be available to Cast and Guests. The attraction is expected to be complete in spring 2006.

Also, they were planning to move back the construction walls this weekend to give the guests a better view, but it has been cancelled until a later date.

I actually mt Joe Rohde on friday and had to really really fight asking him about details for Expedition Everest... he probably wouldnt tell me anything anyway but i was trying not to be a wierdo freak fan... plus its probably just considered rude... same reason I diddnt ask for a pic with him...lol ;-) ... Wow I can't wait to get back to the AK just to see how much progress has taken place since May

Uh, funny you should say that since two members had a long conversation with him about everything under the sun, including Everest, and he was more than happy to talk about it ...

Yen Sid1, Is the mountain fully enclosed now/is everyone that is working on the project currently "preparing for the worst" as far as Wilma is concerned?

The mountain went through 3 hurricanes last year and other disney mountains have been through numerous hurricanes. None have been damaged and I highly doubt the Everest team is concerned (except about the newly planted landscaping.

Or the temporary stuff, like the scaffolding, any cranes that are left, etc.

Right, that's what I was thinking about more so than the mountain itself (assuming it is now completely enclosed in the back and side closest to the Theater in the Wild.) There's a difference between a completed Disney mountain and a construction site.

I wish I got to meet Joe Rhode! The outside of it looks to be 95% done by the pics I saw. They just have some stuff on the top. I dont think the hurricane will affect it all other that trees and plants and etc outside the mt.

That’s why I said that Splash, Thunder, and Space (all completed mountains) have been through numerous hurricanes, as well as that Everest (a construction site) went through three hurricanes last year with little to no problems.
