Everest Billboard

Obviously these billboards mean Everest is "officially open".

Disney has NEVER advertised an attraction before it was 100% ready for visitors. In recent years, Philharmagic, Wishes, Mission Space, Soarin, and Lights,Motors,Action billboards have gone up on the day of their GRAND opening.

Everest's GRAND Opening is not scheduled until April. However, Disney would be foolish to ever close the attraction now (other than unforseen technical problems). Imagine the line of complainers outside Guest Relations ("I wasn't going to buy a ticket to Animal Kingdom until I saw your billboard on I-4 advertising Everest! And it's not open yet??? Gimme back my money!!!!")

The April GRAND opening of Everest is just Disney's way of gaining some free media coverage just before the summer season.

Hasn't anyone gotten a picture of this billboard yet? Or a clip of the ad on TV? Usually we have this stuff the second it comes out....

This is an extremely good point, very well said.

Wells, yes... It is the intent to have Everest open everyday from here on out... But, until the grand opening, the Animal Kingdom does reserve the right to close it on any day to do adjustments. Thus, this period of time is called the "Test and Adjust" cycle

The parks ALWAYS have the right to close attractions. There is never a guarantee that something will be open, even if its advertised.

However, by launching their Everest ad campaign, Disney has literally put money on the fact the ride will be open for business every day.-+

The same "Face Everest" billboard is up here in Jacksonville on I-95 south just past the Phillips Hwy exit.

Saw it going to work the other morning, though I think it is before Phillips. More like shortly after you get off the Fuller Warren.

there is one in Tampa

Tampa has an Everest billboard on I-4. It is at the begining of I-4 heading east bound. Just after Ybor City. I would assume the Disney billboard on I-275 in St. Pete would have the same billboard. I have yet to see the ads yet.

I think it would be nice to have pictures of all the different billbaord signs of disney. I really enjoy seeing them on the way to disney. Iwould love to stop and take a picture of each one but my wife would think I lost my mind.:hammer:

No, we expect someone to venture out, with another human being in the car. That human being would preferably have a camera, or other image capturing device, and then take a picture from the window of a moving vehicle. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I am not asking anyone to risk their life on a billboard picture, although I have seen billboard pictures on this site before and have wondered how they did get them.:lookaroun

I was going to get pictures on Sunday but I was heading East and the billboard is for West traffic and I went right past it before I realized it... but now I know that the Universal Studios' Mardi Gras billboard is on the opposite side so tomorrow morning I'll have pics and I'll try and get them up by like 9:30am... so stay tuned!! I'll get you your damn pics!!! :p
