Ever Rising Room Rates

Holy smokes! I just called and booked our two 2019 trips and room rates are rising more.

We stay at the POFQ every November for four nights. For the past 2-3 years, I ended up paying on average around $225 per night. We were just there November 7-11 and I paid an average of $255 per night.

I just booked our 2019 trip for November 6-10 and it came out to $281 per night!

We also decided to do a quick mini-trip in May, also at the French Quarter. I booked May 23-25 and it came out to $318 per night!

I am a Florida Resident but there are no discounts applied at this time. He said that I would have to call back as it got closer and perhaps they will have some Florida Resident discounts then. I'm just still shocked that the French Quarter is now topping $300 per night. Ouch.

You could rent a studio at a DVC for less...

It's across the boards. I've been using our 2012 Thanksgiving garden view rate at YC for a number of years now to track increases. That same room will cost $223 more per night in 2019. I didn't think it was worth the 2012 rate!

We are in the same boat as you booked POFQ for May 5-12 pool view (going with granddaughters) week day rate $281 weekend rate $300. Seems this time of year no discounts. Ouch is putting it mildly. If it weren't for the fact this is our granddaughters (3 and 6) first visit I seriously doubt we would be going .

I still have a STRONG feeling that once the Skyliner is up and running I would expect to see the Value resorts to be come VAL-MOD (Value-Moderate) Hotels due to the hotels having their own access to 2 parks direct from their hotels. This will increase in room prices drastically because of the benefit of using a unique transport because of it...

We took a 41/2 year break from WDW. I was very surprised by the price increases especially the cost of tickets and annual passes. I was happy with the 35% off I got in Sept and coming up in January. I think this will be a good year to be a pass holder. I’m expecting better room discounts in 2019 as people hold out for Star Wars land to open. Unless there’s some economic downturn I would expect room discounts in 2020 to be slim to none.

It was 4 and 1/2 years. I guess I could have typed it better, but I’m absolutely sure you know what I meant.
I did. Sorry just having some fun. Wasn’t an attempt to be snarky.

I’d guess maybe the additional rooms around will mean some relief in prices, but I think they’d have to see an exodus to off site lodging to really keep rates flat, or they’ll try and push more people towards DVC

In somewhat the same vein, we had the opportunity to visit Disneyland for one day week before last. I checked admission prices and all I can say is wow! $135.00/ea plus $25.00 parking for the day we happened to be there. It would have been nice to go, but not $295.00 nice, and that's before food, etc. This is just getting out of hand.

Unfortunately, they've always priced the tickets to discourage the day visitor (at least thats how it seems to me). 300 for a day is pretty pricey
