Ever played Miniature Golf at WDW?

We have never played the miniature golf that is (I believe) by Blizzard Beach? Our son loves to play miniature golf, but I don't know that it's very different from the courses you can find elsewhere. Anybody played 'em and is it worth the time---or had you rather be at the parks?

I've never played at the ones near blizard beach, but did play at the Fantasia Gardens. It was alot of fun. We went there on our first night in Orlando, before checking in at a Disney resort the next morning. We were staying in a hotel at the Crossroads of Disney, had dinner winth friends who live across town, and capped off the evening playing min. golf. It was good to get us in the Disney mood for the rest of our vacation, but the best part was seeing the fireworks from the parks above the trees while we played. It's a good thing to do if you arrive late and don't want to pay a whole days admission for only a few hours at the parks.

We went to Fantasia gardens...near the Boardwalk. We played the easier of the 2 courses & we had a ball. (even though it was 100 and VERY humid). Its a great way to relax & have some fun. Afterward we went to the Boardwalk & had dinner at the ESPN Club...yummy.

Depends on how long you have to spend in Central Florida. If you've got 4-5 or more days at WDW, go play mini golf! It's fun! And it exudes Disney fun too!

Actually, what you desccribed is what we thought about doing our first day---checking in, having lunch at Rainforest Cafe, Disney Quest, then golf and hit the parks the next day.

Thanks for your answer...(and I noticed you just up the road from me.)

I thinks its called winter summerland, which i thought was really fun because it had some holes that squirt you. plus they have a hockey rink hole reminded me of caddy shack 2. it was also really dead so we had no one rushing us to finish.

It is worth it if your family like minature golf.

So, what is the better choice if you have the dreammaker package? The mini-golf or the lanyards and such?

I do not know what the lanyards are, but we are planning on doing the minature golf again when we go down in April. We liked it a lot. The theming is great.

I love playing Mini golf at WDW. We play at least twice every trip. Winter Summerland is so much fun. Winter is easier and summer is harder. Both are fun and you can sing your way through. (santa baby...) lol I like Fantasia also but I always lose my ball. There always seems to be more of a line there also. Have fun!

The lanyards hold the pins that you can buy. They are kinda tear-drop shaped and worn around your neck. They also get heavy when they are full!

I played mini golf there once with a few of my cousins. It was the one between MGM and the Swan and Dolphin. Fantasia course maybe? I'm not sure. There was much wildlife with a snake that my cousins tried to kill with the putter and a good number of ducks. We got to see Fantasmic over the trees and could hear some of the music. The funniest part of this was when my older cousin got mad at the golf ball, hit it across the street, and it hit the Tower of Terror. It was a pretty good time.

What was he using, a driver or a putter?

On every package, I have ever seen (it's been a bunch I tell ya), you get the free pin and lanyard set which can be picked up in your resort merchandise area

AND

the choice feature which includes your choice of

1. $25 worth of dining at Planet Hollywood
2. A free specialty poster featuring many Disney characters
3. A Leave a Legacy tile at Epcot
4. A free round of miniature golf at either Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens.

(Actually, number 4 comes before number 3 on the actual voucher).

Once deciding which of the 4 choices you want, you will take that half of the voucher to that location and redeem it there. You'll take the half for the pin and lanyard set to the merchandise location.

Now, I just need you to sign this piece of paper stating that you have received your vouchers.

Yes they are different at Winter Summerland near Blizzard Beach. IMO They are very different. The one by MGM is similar to a traditional mini golf course. Both courses have two separate ones like most mini golf courses. The second one at MGM is supposed to be like a small pro course.

Now winter summerland is the best mini golf course I have ever played. Lots of electronic stuff that you trigger with the balls. Another thing I think is neat is that it is very wheelchair friendly. This probably doesn't apply to your family but it does to mine. There aren't the cement bumpers around the greens like on allot of courses.

My theory EXTREMELY WORTH IT if you really like mini golf!

My cousin was using a putter against the offending golfball. They don't have drivers at mini golf. It was a very funny experience. Last time I rode ToT, I couldn't help but laugh saying I can't believe my cousin hit this thing with a golfball. Makes the ride less intense.

the lanyards come with the package its we are probably gonna end up taking the $25 off at planet hollywood because i think the golf is only for 1 round for 1 player, the other choices were a posted, or a leave a legacy tile, which we already have. were going in wednesday so we had time to think about it and it seems like the best way to go is the food
