Ever Have a Dud Disney Vacation?

I had a dud day from my Jan trip. My best friend, who is my Disney travelling buddy, always gets sick about the third day into the trip and complains all day that she can't ________. This has happened the last 4 times we have been, so I don't know why she is surprised or hasn't taken measures to combat this.
Try being happy when the person you are travelling with keeps complaining that she can't eat because she feels "toxic" cause she hasn't pooped in 3 days. Then she complained the next 2 days cause she felt nauseous and had the squirts.

:brick:

Well, I kept complaining about it to my husband and karma got me in the end. We were riding on Spaceship Earth and at the point where you enter the starry sky, I started to feel super nauseous. I kept thinking I was going to puke everywhere, so I started digging through my bag looking for something to quietly throw up in. Well, about 20 seconds later, the sickness moves lower and I feel like my stomach is going to blow up. I had all this horrible pressure. Well, all of a sudden, the ride starts slowing down and I'm thinking, "I'm going to puke or have an accident in my shorts." And then the ride STOPS. Well, at this point my eyes are watering and I am having hot and cold flashes. I took and chance and let this paint peeling fart fly. My husband and best friend and her husband start screaming and coughing and dying from the smell. I'm laughing and crying because I feel so bad. Finally after sitting in the stench for about a minute or so, the ride starts up. I manage to get off the ride and run for the bathroom where I am dying of a stomach virus for about an hour or so. All the while there is thousands of people coming in and out of the bathrooms around me screaming and yelling to their family members about how this bathroom stinks so bad.:cry::cry:

I learned my lesson not to tease people about their stomach situations. My friends and husband and I refer to this as the "Hot Sick" situation on Spaceship Earth.:hammer:
I am sooooo sorry but, I was laughing so hard when I read your story that I think I peed my pants!:ROFLOL::lol: :ROFLOL:

Sadiebird!

I hope you have a better trip this year. I'm sure you will. After all, hindsight is 20/20....argh! Cole will probably be eating a lot of adult food, he'll still take a bottle and solids, but it's a lot less stress. He has learned how to act in restaurants-we have been exposing him a lot for our trip. When we went in Sept, he was colicky 24/7. No kidding. We did the free dining plan, we had to cancel all but one of our ADR's. We ended up eating counter service the whole time. It was fine with us, it was less time in sit down places. This year we can actually make ADR's and keep them! Oh, the things that make me happy. I guess last year we expected more out of our trip, because we didn't know what to expect! Now he has a schedule and can sleep anywhere. He will enjoy the rides more and will love looking at things. I hope you have a great upcoming trip. It's very exciting that we are exposing them early to Disney World! Take care!

Has anyone actually had a bad vacation caused by Disney or the Disney crowd? Most of these stories (including my own) are mostly sickness or some "act of god" kind of event.

We did have a bad day once because of the crowd. It was a Sunday and our first day of the trip and we went to the Magic Kingdom. We were staying off site and so we had to park and take the boat over. We were there an hour or so before the park opened and they held back the boat for awhile until the on-site guests were mostly already in the park, so by the time we got in it was already really crowded and there were long lines for everything. That kind of stunk.

I did have a dud vacation, but it really had nothing to do with Disney itself, it was more the company I was with and other issues. This was many years ago and I went with a friend and her dad which was a big mistake right off the bat. Then we picked a hotel which was doing construction when we were there so had to listen to construction noises while at the pool (not a Disney resort). Then my friend was afraid to go on some rather simple rides like Haunted Mansion and ended up riding alone or with her dad. Needless to say I was very happy when the trip was over. Then another time I went with my husband it rained all day for 4 days in a row and by the time the sun finally came out I got a terrible cold. this was not really a dud vacation, but since it was my husbands first time at WDW I was disappointed that the weather was so bad and that I got sick, but at least we still had a great time.

The last trip the wife and I took had certainly started out the wrong way. Normally we'd buy our passes when we'd check-in, but this time we ordered them via phone.

Every previous trip, our room keys and passes were the same exact item, so it came as a great surprise to us that we weren't allowed into Epcot after waiting an hour to get into the park (after another hour of waiting for our bus at Carribean Beach...)

I headed over to guest services which had another hour-long line. All the while, my Wife who suffers from Crohens Disease is wasting away. She cannot eat too much or too little without getting almost cripplingly sick.

Guest services couldn't help us, so we had to wait for a bus to take us back to the guest services of Caribbean Beach. Another long line and we find out that ticketing was closed and would not be available for several days.

We wrangled with the credit card company who verified that we had paid for our passes.

However- it all worked out in the end. The Castmember gave us 4-day passes, which hopefully by the end of that time, our tickets would be found. As it turned out, our passes were held "On call" at Animal Kingdom of all places... We got to keep our temp passes and were told that the extra day could be used on our next trip. Even better, the total cost of our room and passes were refunded to us (although we still had to pay the taxes.)

After all was said and done, the wife and I ended up saving more money than had we stayed at home.

That trip started out so sour especially for my sick wife. (and just a few months later my wife would have to undergo major surgery... losing bits of intestine and colon..) Getting that final "bill" made most of that suffering go away...
