Weather update.

Currently:
Dallas is 99, feels like 108 with 48% humidity.
Orlando is 86, feels like 96 with 66% humidity.

A day or two ago it was close to 100, and it rained, and then right back up to 100. I am pretty sure we reached 110% humidity. (Between Dallas and FortWorth)

Yeah, more data that proves Dallas is significantly hotter.

The kicker is, I am looking at tonight at 10pm:

Dallas will be 90 degrees and feels like 98.

Orlando shows it will be 80 degrees, feels like 87.

I don't care how the heat at home compares with the heat in Orlando. At home I'm in A/C most of the day with quick jaunts in and out of the heat. At Disney, I'm in the heat all day with quick jaunts into the A/C.

For me sometimes I think going from AC to outdoors and vice versa is just as bad. Feels like a shock to my system. I worked construction 35 yrs. and in hot weather always had lunch outside. Just to avoid that shock.

The amount of times I have walked by a family or couple getting angry at each other and saying how hot they are at the parks is laughable. It’s Florida, it’s summer, it’s Disney. I’m not sure what exactly you were expecting but maybe next time don’t visit on June 28th if you’re going to complain how hot you are by noon.

I have said that so many times. But I often wonder are they noobies? When I was a guest (and even now) I leave the park mid-day and go cool off, rest etc. then come back toward evening refreshed. Yep it's FL. and it's summer time!

You couldn't pay me to go to WDW from May-October (at least most of October-I will be arriving there this year on October 29). I have always visited in early-mid March, and I wouldn't want to have to add oppressive heat and humidity to miles of walking every park day.

I'm lucky enough to be able to take 2-4 hour visits, really makes the heat bearable when you can get in and get out before you really start getting hot. I can't wait for Disney in winter again. Best time of the year.

The only thing I didn't like was the temp dipping into the 50s at night in March, but that happens where I live during early and late summer nights, so I'm pretty used to it. I didn't want to lug a hoodie or jacket around all day, so sitting there watching Wishes when it is 54 degrees and only wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt made it a bit chilly, and I was glad the bus back to the resort was warm :)

We live in Mississippi and the humidity struggle is real.. I was cutting grass today in 100 degree weather with a heat index of 106 degrees.. When I was done, I thought I was going to pass out... :(

One more weather update and I think I'll have made my point.

Currently,

Dallas 101, Feels like 108, 47% humidity
Orlando 76, Feels like 76, 90% humidity

Granted, it's raining in Orlando, but that's what it does during the summer. Another reason Dallas is WAY worse on a daily basis than Orlando.

Not really that quick. Many shows and queues are a lot longer than quick jaunts and A/C is like a religion at Disney.

And it's not even that hot...

"I'm right regardless of the facts."

That's not at all what I'm saying. It may indeed prove out that this summer is hotter in Dallas than in Orlando. That in no way changes my experience over more than 20 years of visits to central Florida. You keep presenting temp comparisons from this year as if that proves something. It does not.

I ruined at least a couple of family days in the parks as a kid, from getting dehydrated and suffering massive headaches due to the heat.

I vividly recall deliriously napping on a bench for an hour while my parents and sister waited patiently for me to recover.

Since then, I've advocated had my kids drinking water constantly, or avoiding the summer months completely.

I'm from New York, and we get hot summer days here but the humidity is nothing compared to Florida. I've had some bad weather experiences as a guest (I remember being 12 and actually sticking my head under the fountain at AK), but actually came the closest to passing out while interning w/ Disney in MK. Ironically, I was on one of the squeeze breeze carts, trying to keep guests cool...but was so hot myself that I had to be escorted off stage and sent home. Carrying water bottles on you at all times and taking rests indoors really isn't a joke in FL during the summer, it's essential...I definitely learned that one the hard way.

I've lived in Dallas and lived in San Antonio but never found either one very hot, at least not to unbearable intensities. But when factoring in the humidity and direct sun experienced in Florida (and my native Louisiana), I'd say it's very hot and unpleasant in WDW at times. In fact, it rivals most other places in the US, save Death Valley and surrounding areas.

To say it is not that hot in Orlando is asinine, but this is just a friendly discussion right? I suppose 90 degrees in Michigan and Wisconsin (as it sometimes reaches there during a heat wave) is the same as 90 degrees in Florida? Weather Channel stats are irrelevant as air tempature is not a direct reflextion of how people "feel" warmth and "hotness", even when considering the heat index. There is no numerical way to gauge the intensity of "hot" weather other than individual comparison.

When I cut my grass on a 95 degree day, it's no big deal as long as there is cloud cover. But with no clouds and the beaming sun, it's as if Lucifer hath cast firery swaths of blazing demons upon the South. But I suppose we all have more important things to talk about than the weather, but I couldn't help myself on this one.

South Texas here. It gets hot here too but I think the humidity at disney is what is killer. Ill be going in september taking cooling towels lots of water etc. Also the breaks in AC area will be nice and mandatory.
