My wife and I have been so busy with work and everything else going on that we forgot to keep tabs on WDW Special Offers for our upcoming trip. I checked the WDW site yesterday, and saw two special offers for the time we have booked. I called and both offers (which have a limited number of room allocations) have already been "used up." Ugh. It could have saved us a ton of money. :( We can't let this happen with California Grill!

Keep checking! People will end up backing out of their trips, you just have to be the lucky one to snap it up.

If it makes you feel any better, I think they are including a lot fewer rooms in the more recent offers. I was going for a room only discount for Sept and the room I wanted was gone before the end of the Disney Visa discounts...i.e. it was gone before anything opened up to the general public. My supervisor got free dining for his fall trip last week - booked the discount the day it opened - and while he got it for their current room type...all of the discounts were all gone on all of the other room types he was considering.

Now, I know that everyone has been begging for discounts, but when both of us experienced discounts being snapped up in a day or less...that says to me that it's got to be far fewer rooms with discounts. Still- best to keep trying. Good luck!!! :)

Forgot to use my trip vouchers in my AAA packet one year that would have been a savings but did get my free refillable mug.. And I have bought things using cash that I should have used the Disney Visa card which would have given me reward points. Another year I left a Disney gift card home that I thought had been placed in my wallet.

I always use Kingdom Konsultants (Jenell) she is GREAT she makes sure you get any promotions that may be going on during your visits.

And that is why I started using a Disney Travel Agent to take care of our room/package reservations. But I agree with the others...keep calling, something may open up.

I've done many dumb things in my life that ended up costing me money. :) I think most people have.

Next time, get a travel agent who specializes in Disney. They don't cost you a penny and may be able to save you money. :)

Last time I went to WDW, I got a book of vouchers for money off places like Ghiradelli, some of the restaurants at DTD etc.

Unfortunately, I kept leaving the vouchers in my hotel room, only realising when I got to DTD! The only voucher I did use was a free round of minigolf at Winter Summerland.

At least I don't feel bad after reading some of these posts. The only "costly" mistake I made was to make ADRs at Sanaa, expecting to use my TiW card. The only problem was that my card expired 10/31, and my reservations were for 11/1. I was so rattled when my server told me my card was expired that I forgot that I could have gotten a DVC discount still.

I'm doing a happy dance today.

I've been calling quite often just to be told no discount offer was available. Today, on a whim, I decided to call again. Much to my surprise, the free dining was available!!!! After the upgrade to deluxe dining and the $50 "penalty" for making a change this close to the reservation date, we're coming out $865 ahead. Woot!! Very happy! :D

Forgot to use a travel agent this trip, well didn't forget so much as there was a lot going on in my life when we decided to take this trip and trying to find the info for the person we use would have just been too much for me to deal with mentally. I'm not sure if I'm losing money since I'm using a PIN code for free dining, but I keep getting that nagging feeling that I might be missing something and it's a lot more stressful planning everything on my own and dealing with dining.

Next trip though I'm definitely finding the info, it's nice having that extra person looking out for you and your trip.
