hey im not much for intense roller coasters, and im going to hershey park this summer with a few friends. i was wondering if anyone here has been and if you could tell me what coasters i will probably be ok on - the only coasters i've been on that i enjoyed are the ones at disney - but i hate tower of terror.

i don't how many PA people are here, but this is the only message board i belong to so i figured id try my luck

thanks!

I've been there a few times. As far as "intensity" goes, the Superduperlooper is as tame as they come. It was actually my first roller coaster. It a steel coaster with one inversion.

Also, I find the Great Bear to be a nice smooth ride. It's inverted, so it looks a bit intimidating, but it's a nice calm ride, and not much worse than the RnRC.

For wooden coasters... I'm not sure how well you handle those kinds of things.

I've been a couple times; real nice place... real nice place indeed!

There is one big steel coaster there with inversions and such. It's not that scary or intimidating, however... fun factor's about on par with R'n'Roller Coaster.

There's a wooden coaster there too, which is notable because it features a loop... I haven't been on many wooden coasters that actually turn you upside down... but this one does.

And then, of course, there is another notable coaster there—the Roller Soaker! This one's a suspended coaster in a big water play area. Riders have "water cannons" they can use to shoot water at the people in the queue below. And likewise, people below can shoot water up at the riders.

Pretty fun stuff!

Ah yes.....the Roller Soaker! :lookaroun

We haven't been to HersheyPark in a few years, but there is more to do than just coasters.

I have seen it on the travel channel several times, and it looks like a very charming place.....I would be sure to do the factory tour too!

Ah yes, the fake "factory" tour at the Chocolate World® Visitors Center is very reminiscent of vintage EPCOT Center—the cars are on a system similar to the Disney Omnimover system and the whole feel of the ride echoes something that's a cross between Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth. Best part: Free sample at the end!

And its just been re done!

I remember as a kid going into the actual factory on the tour. There are still some tracks outside the buildings.

Uh...Nimmy no there's not. Hershey's got some great wooden coasters (the classic "Comet," and the newer "Wildcat" and "Lightning Racer," but no wooden coaster goes upside down at Hershy. Sure you're not thinking of "Son of Beast" at Paramount Kings Island?

Ah yea! The real factory tour! I think I was about 3 at the time, and went with my grandmother and mom.

I went to college near there and used to go there often, but it's been a while now! I was there for my birthday last month to go to chocolate world. They did just redo the ride - not a whole lot has changed.......and you can get your picture taken with candy bars. :lookaroun It was still neat and did remind me SLIGHTLY of Disney/Epcot. The park itself wasn't open but I love it there. There is a lot to do. I went there a lot as a kid and that's when I hated coasters. I thought there was a lot to do there. :sohappy:
