Euro disney plans 1992....does this look familiar

The Original plans for "Little Mermaid" was to be a Pirates/Small World style boat ride, and Beauty and the Beast was supposed to be a Golden Horse shoe type dinner theater, but when "Euro Disney" had financial troubles those attractions got shelved. There is an enormous amount of space in Paris for that stuff though

btw, it's kind of funny to see the concept art for a "Giant Ursula Head" everybody keeps whining about that in DL Mermaid ride

No... The original Mermaid was a suspended ride system very similar to Peter Pans Flight. No boats.

Interestingly, in 1992 this was planned for both EuroDisney and.... the Magic Kingdom.

The whole avatar thing has had me thinking back, wondering how often projects got to the point were revealed/previewed to the public, but then later canceled like in this case. It seemed like it was a more common/acceptable thing to happen back then.

I remember seeing a video on YouTube recently of a TV special, from probably the early 90's, about WDW. I remember there being a segment where they showed a much of things that would be coming to MGM none if which ever materialized.

Where, specifically, would the attraction have been placed at the Magic Kingdom?

That may have been part of the stumbling block; a lack of suitable space. The most logical location would be around where Belle/Be Our Guest ended up but with 20,000 Leagues still in the picture it might have seemed like too much work to get it to fit. The only other places I could imagine would be evicting Mr. Toad or building it on top of Mickey's Starland.

that's so bizarre... i have the opening of Euro Disney on DVD but it has our British presenters on it lol. i was going to upload it but looks like someone already has it.

And that was the only part of Captain EO I had seen until it was bought back in 2010. aww.

Internally are they viewing Storybook Circus as temporary?

The dueling Dumbos, no, but the Great Goofini could certainly be removed if they ever decide to go outside the train tracks and build a larger attraction, plenty of room for show building east of the drainage pond.
